i will be getting back surgery next week, july 2nd at 9am at Montgomery general. if anyone can help with me I would greatly appreciate. any visits or phone calls talking to the dotors educating them would help in case there is a disaster.

i am good at advocating for my self under normal circumstances, but who knows how i will be after.I have a wonderful supportive family but they are not lyme literate (lyme friendly)

if anyone can PM me their names and phone numbers i will keep a list. I may be in there 4-5 days.

I am still new here, but I can empathize with what you are going through. I had spinal fusion surgery 3 years ago.

I work near Montgomery Hospital.

Not sure what I could do for you.

Send a PM to let me know more specifics and I'll see what I can do for you.

my husband had a great idea.

if something goes wrong he will call my LLMD. I dont know why I didn't think of that [Roll Eyes]
I guess my brain was not working right last night

if everything goes smoothly and i come out of it OK I should be out of there in a day or two

I am just worried that if something goes wrong and the dr's in the hospital dont know about lyme it could be a disaster. we are not telling the surgeon too much about lyme because I dont want to scare him off, i really need the surgery.

hopefully everything will go fine. i am just going to do everything i can to get out of the hospital as quickly as i can.

When I broke my shoulder I had my orthopedist contact my LLMD for anthesia guidelines.

He also supplied info for post-surgery IV's that helped me recover from the anesthesia faster than I would have otherwise.

Take a list of your meds and supps and keep them with you. Also have your meds available. The hospital may not be able to get things like Mepron in time for you to have it.

My nurses were appreciative of my knowledge of my illness and my meds. They allowed me to substitute my own when the hospital couldn't supply things.

Good luck!
