I know someone who has a rash on his back from a tick he removed (dog tick) Its red and itchy and has been like this 6 months. not the telltale bullseye EM

he has no other symptoms. It seems to me like some kind of local infection. he thinks he may have left the head of the tick in. he did see his dr shortly after, but the dr didn't do anything (maybe ran a test for lyme?)

to me it sounds suspicious and worrisome with all the diseases out there. the itchiness may mean his immune system is working well at fighting it off, or allergic reaction?
