A Naturopath I used to see quite often is famous for his research on blood type and diet/disease etc.
I still go there for colonics. Today I was chatting with the nurse and she brought up something that might be interesting.
She said that a majority of the patients she sees for colonics who have lyme, have O blood type. Not all, but most.
Since blood type is "their thing" she wondered if there was something about our blood type that ticks especially like.
Personally, I don't think ticks are fussy.
I said I knew some folks that might be willing to chime in with their blood type info.
Anyone? If I give her some numbers I'm sure she will take them "to the man" and he might have something interesting to say about it.

I have always wondered if any one blood type recovers better than the rest. I had a friend with O type blood that caught their disease early and did two years of abx and seemed to recover completely.
I lost touch with them so I do not know how they are doing lately.
People with O type blood seem to be hardier to me than those with type A blood. At least they seem to be able to exercise more intensely.

There are books about blood type & diet, etc. I'm not sure if it's relevant or if it helps. I know 1 person who did it & she seemed to think it was helpful.

Sparkle,
Yeah. One of those is Eat Right For Your Blood Type.
I'm an "A" and it says no meat. However, I have to have animal protein. Still, grass fed, organic meats works far better for me - in small amounts. I do great with wild salmon as my main source, though.
Still, when it listed certain foods that an "A" should avoid (such as garbonzo beans, and a few others), I was amazed as I always felt ill with those foods - even though they were supposed to make me feel good.
While it's not written in stone, it's "food for thought."

This is great! Hum - 1 B so far.
Sparkle - yes! "One Man's Food is Another Man's Poison" too.
I followed the diet - not the son in CT - for 1 solid year.
Felt and looked 20 years younger. Don't know why I stopped.
That was post Lyme too.
I'll wait to see if there are more responses and get this info to the nurse.
Good point that a majority of people have type O but according to these guys we all have a sub type as well so maybe all of you A types have and 0 sub type.
In terms of exercise, they practically insist that 0's get up to one hour of hard exercise everyday. Not us lymies!
All you lucky A's do nicely with yoga. Maybe in my next life I'll be an A.

I don't know about that blood type diet... I always injure myself if I do yoga!
Maybe if I could afford wild caught salmon...? I would definitely eat it. I was a vegetarian for many years but I don't know if it helped. I eat meat now.
I try to eat as healthy as possible but I think people get too fetishistic about diet. I avoid chemicals, hydrogenated oils, & corn syrup. I'm open to almost everything else... except innards, tripe, liver, etc.
Never had a problem with garbanzos or hummus.

I am an A which I posted already and I feel I was born to do yoga.
Yoga certainly helps me with dealing with being sick and stress. Certain poses can bother my knee but besides that I find most of yoga very healing.

While I've never tried the Blood Type Diet, I took a look at the chart.
Interestingly enough, most of the foods I've become intolerant or allergic to due to lyme are the foods I'm also supposed to avoid for my blood type.
Hmmmm....
Vigorous exericise? Ha! Ummm... maybe later.
