I started on my full dose of Doxy yesterday and began Omnicef with it. I notice over the last several days that I get ravenously hungry despite my good eating habits. Has anyone else experienced this when starting antibiotics? (And, no, I'm not pregnant.) Posts: 96 | From Ft. Worth, TX | Registered: May 2008

I'm on cipro and ceftin and I feel like I'm more hungry too. Maybe it is the meds. Before I was on fluconazole, and I felt depressed and I don't think I felt as hungry.

I think this has to do with a portion of the brain that controls when we feel full. I wish I knew what that was.
Sometimes, when my daughter is herxing, she will get that, and she will eat until she throws up. She isn't getting the signal that she is full.
When she does get that way, she tries to eat protein, or a carnation instant breakfast....slowly.
The only drug we know that might have contributed to this was Seroquel. It's helped to get off that drug, but when she is herxing, the feeling comes back.
Ride it out, nibble slowly and wait for the brain to kick in.

Yes, I've noticed that I just can't feel satisfied, which I know is not physically possible!! I've really tried to slow down and let my food have it's way before eating more. Such a strange feeling to have your mind and feelings disconnect in this way.
