My husband started Tindamax on Monday of this week, 500mg QD on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.

All was fine - no signs of anything - which is amazing.

Yesterday he started experiencing - what I can only describe as head rushes.

Also yesterday I attempted to titrate him up to 500 BID.

The head rushes - he gets them lying still, moving around, etc...

He says they don't hurt but he feels like jello is sliding around in his head.

They seem to come and go throughout the day.

Knock wood - no other signs of the normal stuff we saw last year with Flagyl when he had to stop taking it.

Walking is fine, balance is good, etc...

Has any body else experienced a head rush sensation when taking Flagyl or Tindamax?

Yes I would say it is a GOOD sign, die-off IN THE HEAD.
Had it and it went away. feels like water rinning inside the head.

I'm even MORE confused on which one to take --- flagyl or tinidazole (tindamax). I've gotten a prescription for both already filled, but I haven't started to take either one of them. I have to make a decision.

My doctor switched me from doxy to zithro about a week ago. She wanted me to take a low dose of zithro (250mg/per day) for a week before adding the flagyl at a low dose (250/per day).

I've heard all these horror stories about the flagyl, that I was too scared to start taking it yesterday. I called my doctor and asked if they would switch it to tinidazole, which I hear can be easier to tolerate.

Bottom line: I STILL haven't decided which one I'm going to take and I need to add it quickly!

My doctor said she knows it's gonna kick my butt, so she's wanting to go "low and slow" to start off.

Any opinions?

Thanks,
terri3boys
