you are the second one to report this, see the post "Need opinions on rash (pics included)"
there must be some new disease going around carried by mosquitos. it doesn't surprise me.
either that or maybe we are now sensitive to any bite now because of lyme, so our bodies launch an attack.
new theory: bullseye does NOT mean recent local infection. it means past infection and now our bodies are sensitive to it and launches an attack.

Same here. Like roro said, check out my thread.
I also got some sort of bite that now has a red circle around it. I've never reacted to any bug bite like I did with this.

I live in CA and our lyme doctors out here have no doubt that lyme can be spread by misquitos. It makes complete sense. The mosquitoes feed on blood and ticks are pretty much completely filled with it. As well the misquitoes can easy attack them since the ticks can't fly and are often smaller or the same size as them.
This is why this is disease is so scary. Not only is it's treatment unique to each person, extremely hard to diagnoise, and extremely expensive to treat. It's also now endemic in 48 states. I hightly recommend you taking pictures of the rash, getting your blood tested for lyme at igenex lab in palo alto, CA it's $200 for a lyme test.
I also know people who have gotten lyme from blood transfutions. Even scarier you can live with lyme symtoms for a long time without it really affecting you. I for example lived with lyme for over 10 years before I became completely non functioning.
Let me know if you want some help!

We've had 3 people with mosquito bites who got Lyme that I know of for sure. One got Lyme and West Nile too.
They didn't have Lyme prior to the mosquito bites.
Sooooooo.. even though the IDiots say it can't happen... and their reason is because they "don't have a documented case"... doesn't make them right.

Yes, my dad got Lyme and his first EM from a mosquito - saw it land on his arm and bite him. He had other EMs months later, we don't know if they were recurring EMs or if bitten again by an unseen bug. My dad had never had a bad reaction to any mosquito bite prior to this.
A patient who sees my LLMD got Lyme and Babesia from a mosquito on the east coast.

So...the big questions:
Will the abx I'm currently on protect me? or
Do I need to add something like doxy?
---and---
Should I expect to get, like, a million times worse now that my Bb load has been so dramatically increased?
Am I even any worse off than I already was at all?
Is there anything to worry about if I call my LLMD tomorrow and tweak my txment as recommended?
I just figure that if my current abx were able to protect me from
this, I wouldn't have even gotten the rash. Is that reasonable to assume?
