Hello:

I started taking Doxy 200mg/day 10 days ago.

A few days later, i started getting a rash. Now its worse. It is also very itchy.

Doctor says its hives from the Doxy and to stop taking it.

She is putting me on amoxil.

Will amoxil work just as well?
thank you,
Marana

Amoxi is a lyme killer only - it will not touch co-infections as Doxy does.

Will your doctor be adding Rifampin or Biaxin? These in combo w/Amoxi can be very effective.

I have not tested positive yet for Lyme.

I got a bulls eye rash 5 weeks ago and the doctor said it looks like Lyme and put me on antibiotics( 3 weeks late because i went to another dr who is incompetent).

I have to be tested in about 2 weeks .

I think she said a western blot.

She did not put me on anything else except amoxil.
