Hi, The movie Under Our Skin and the book Cure Unknown have awoken interest in the Lyme disease debate. Good Morning America will be showing a news story on the Lyme disease controversy tomorrow morning between 7:30 and 8:00 AM.
This came up on short notice and I was filmed late yesterday. Someone from the IDSA school of thought was also filmed in the Washington area. Thanks to Pat Smith for helping with this and Pam Kahl for PR assistance. There are other media projects going on at the same time. Good news. Perhaps some of the general public will watch this and they will become better informed about the disease and how to prevent it too.

Thank you BettyG and Ellen,
Both Under Our SKin and Cure Unknown in the same show--with an IDSA duck? Do I detect a great slam dunk here from ABC?
Oh goodie.
Will the IDSA duck be challenged? Can't wait!
I never get up that early and I don't have a TV, but I'll manage THIS!
Anybody know how that translates to mountain time? Here's what I mean: TV shows are sometimes one, sometimes two hours different from New York TV time. So, how do you know?
It is a very confusing-looking site with pictures and text scattered everywhere, but somewhere on the page it has a feature where you can type in your zip code and find your local listings.
I just checked zap2it to see when Good Morning America is on in my town, since I've never watched the program. Hopefully the listing is just not up-to-date, because the show description for Thursday and the other days this week didn't say anything about Lyme disease.
Hope this will be on everywhere.
Thanks for the advance notice! Nutmeg

I, too am beginning to wonder where the story has gone..........I'm all caught up on people defending themselves, and the publicized divorce and the porn that they apparently used for "intimacy reasons" in the latter part of their marriage, blah blah blah.......

Hi guys.....I was just told that the GMA piece was bumped because Diane Sawyer and the lawyer talked too long. Supposedly the station loves the story and it WILL air at a later date. We will be notified as to when

I woke up at 8:00 after some much needed sleep and thought I missed it too only to tune into story about a teacher having sex with a 12 year old student and then the two of them taking off for Mexico together.
I knew that story was not Lyme related.

I didn't get up for it since I take sleep when I can with my crazy schedule, but had tivo'ed both days when they had been mentioned, but no, won't even bother to go see what is on the tivo now since it appears it doesn't matter.
Thank you Kam for the link. I did just write them a note asking them if they could tell me when the segment would be airing. Perhaps if they get enough of us wondering, they will realize this is a little more important than many of the "fillers" they are using.

I wrote to them as well.
Hopefully they will see that there are many of us waiting to tell everyone we know when to watch for the segment!

Ahhhhh....don't bother writing to the link that Kam gave. I already got an email back from them and it says....
As you can imagine, we receive thousands of messages a day from our viewers and while we appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback regarding our programming, we are not able to respond to each one directly.
We encourage you to continue to communicate with us!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT CHANGING TO DIGITAL TELEVISION:
Then it goes on to talk about that topic. In my note I was ONLY asking about the Lyme Segment for Good Morning America and even for the subject it was an Inquiry.
So it looks like this is a canned response and they don't even read it. But hey, it was worth a try. But no, doesn't work.

OMG that's funny!
How come we Lymies continually have to be patient--about everything, huh?

Daise - Angelica could be mistaken the teacher sounds like he has a neruo form of LD and/or Bart to be after a 12 year old! We know it must be LD for someone to be this mentally ill.

Similar situ happened to me - we waited to see if our Lyme TV interview would air and instead we were treated to a program on the impact of depleted uranium in Iraq, which we thought was a worse story!

Ya, Robin, how to figure?
But it finally did get aired and it was wonderful. You guys packed-in every second to make them count. Again, thank-you.
IF it's NOT ON, turn on monday morning, 730 - 8 am, ABC....
she said NOT to write letters to complain....look for her post; i forgot majority of what she said!
also, i set my vcr, and showed it recording daily 730-800 am UNTIL IT IS AIRED; so i don't have to keep reprogramming it! *************************

oh well...at least bransfield was on. and the under our skin stuff was pretty dramatic . maybe some of it will catch someones eye.
but the final message..."we don't want to worry folks..."
and 80% get bullseye-when did that # come out?
and if you catch it in time one pill will cure you...
if not 2-4 weeks will cure you for sure..
guess lyme disease is not that big a problem after all, huh?

I cringed when the anchor started out by calling the film "UNDER MY SKIN."
That woman started off sounding okay but it was downhill from there. She didn't even form proper sentences; spoke like someone with very low intelligence!

I thought it was positive that they showed clips from "Under MY Skin" (brodcaster blooper) AND I think it's great that it was even on GMA.
However, I thought the woman's info was a bit misleading. 80% get a bulls eye rash? One treatment of abx, sometimes a month? Uh, ok, bob-cut lady.
I'm mean. I'm grateful for ANY work put into this...that lady just rubbed me the wrong way.
I give it a grade of B-.
Sorry...you know I'm a positive and supportive person. I guess any exposure is good exposure (no pun intended).
I missed seeing Pam Weintraub. I think her verbiage would have made a difference.
Every little piece helps, though so thanks so much to anyone involved getting it on there in the first place!!
