i was put on doxy for lyme and took 12 days of it and then i woke up itching like crazy, i have a rash that keeps coming and going and thin red lines on my skin to. the dr said it may be an alleric reaction to the meds. i am off it now but just wondering if anyone has had a reaction like this to it? my skin burns and itches and the rash comes and goes. i was ok most of the day but the rash just came back out again...any ideas?

like hives?
or like a bart rash?
I personally have never had an allergic reaction take that long (12 days) to manifest.
Did you start a different med or supplement or eating somthing different?

i saw my doctor and he was not much help. i guess i will give it a few days on the claritin and benadryl and see how it goes. it is weird though, i get the bumps that come and go and thin red lines with it

I had the same reaction. It didn't start until day 14 of treatment. I am very bad at not scratching and anywhere that was scratched still has a scar!
They can move you to a new med. For me it was ceftin next, then zithro, then amox.
Sun also has a very bad reaction with doxy. Have you been in the sun? Is it th emore sun exposed areas?

i have tired to stay out of the sun, the other day i took my daughter for a walk, was outside for 30 min total...broke out next day...could 30 min do that?
