I am taking Biaxin (1000 mg/day) for a sinus infection.

Thursday Evening I had a very bad migraine. Took some meds and went to bed on ice packs. I woke up yesterday and my hips were so locked up that I had to hold onto things to get to the kitchen. I am walking but it feels like I have a 50 lb. cannon ball in each of my hip sockets. I'm moving but I'm moving slow.

I have been treated for lyme and took a year and a half of abx but am no longer taking them. That's been 3? years ago perhaps. The sudden onset of my hips locking up reminding me of days when I would herx.

I would just appreciate your input. Thank you.

Hey hey db...

Long time no see! Sorry though that pain got you back here.

Were you ever tested for bartonella?

That might cause a herx is why I asked. Also Lyme herx too.. but just hoping this will help?

Ah Tincup,

You made my day. Thanks so much for writing and remembering me! I thought of you when I was sending my message. You kept me going so many times while going through treatment. One does not forget that very easily either. Thank you.

Yes, I thought, too, I was herxing. I felt this way but with my feet when I took Levaquin. From what I could tell from my searches here it looks like I need to be tested for Bartonella. ..Especially since the Biaxin is starting this act as far as I know.

Did a search on LLMD's as mine moved, but got some returns to some docs in Texas which is where I'm at. I talked to Lymetoo (my cousin) tonight also. I sure didn't want to reopen this door but maybe it never closed!

I hope you are feeling better. You have kept us all going here one way or another and I admire you for it. Please let me know how you are.

OH GOLLY!

That's right! Tutu's cousin! You poor dear! I try hard to forget stuff like that! Sorry you reminded me! YIKES!

Hey...

If I sent you a few dollars... might you buy her a new pair of suspenders? She is still running around here dropping her drawers for anyone and everyone.. just showing that bumkin of hers all over the place!

[lol]

I wasn't sure you'd remember me.. so I am happy to know you did. Thanks for that and the kind words. I smile.

I am sure Tutu gave you the what-for on Rifampin. Ouch on the head... and I know she suffered.

Maybe she didn't mention....

You can get a Bartonella Antibody Panel done by most doctors if they use Quest lab... and many do. If you have insurance.. Quest Lab tests are usually paid for by them... but do check.

This might save you time, $ and a trip and at least get you started on ideas? Don't know if the tests will be affected by the meds you are on now.. but might be worth a try?

Also.. IGeneX does a Bartonella test... but it is a PCR. Good if it is positive.. but often hard to get a positive.

I've noted the Quest panel checks for antibodies to several strains and is often showing results for folks we know have Bartonella.

I hope that you don't have a herx... and this was just a bad day... but I know you would know if it feels Lyme-like... and if any concerns.. best nip it in the bud.

As for me? I am as sane as ever... and even though I don't see much of Mel Gibson lately.... I have an active social life.

Yepper.. today I washed dishes, did laundry... and.. and.. and...

I danced!

Thanks for asking. Please let us know how you are doing, you hippie you... ok?

Hope those hips of yours are soon reminding us of Elvis the Pelvis.

[Big Grin]

Sooooooooo good to see you again!

Tincup... How sweet of you to take care of my cousin while I was in TX. The two of us weren't able to get together this time, but we stay in close contact via phone and email.

I love her dearly!

I hope she doesn't have to go back on abx, but I'm sure she needs treatment in one way or another. ugh!!

I hate to see her suffer more ... but the only way out is through!

PS to Tinny... Even if I had new suspenders, I would make sure to still flash you!! [lol] [Big Grin]
