Hi,

I have my first LLMD appointment tomorrow. While I

don't recall being bitten by a tick, I've been

encouraged to get checked out by a LLMD because of

my symptoms. Thus far, they have been attributed

to Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, or

just ignored. They've been around for about a

decade, but I've gotten worse, pretty steadily,

with new symptoms over the past 4 years.

My symptoms are:

# eye pain and difficulty focusing (especially

up-close, even though I've been slightly

nearsighted for years); occasional blurriness in

center of vision; eyes easily fatigued.

# light sensitivity

# disorientation/dizziness (esp. in fluorescent

lighting and after I've gotten off an elevator)

# migraines / headaches (other)

# burning sensation/pain behind eyes, around

temples

# TMJ

# neck and upper back pain (muscle & cervical

spine)

# sinus pain

# ear pain (a burning sensation, accompanies

migraine & sinus pain)

# occasional lip tingling with headache

# chronic congestion

# dry, scaly, red spots on my upper body (my

dermatologist told me it's eczema, but I keep

getting new spots.)

# skin gets very itchy; small raised bumps on skin

at times (esp. on upper body)

# dx of pelvic floor dysfunction

# cold hands and feet (nails turn purple)

# excessive sweating

# night sweats (cold sweats)

# high testosterone

# chest pain

# shortness of breath

# digestive discomfort (an upper endoscopy was

negative for esophageal erosion.)

# frequent ovarian cysts

# mouth sores

# pain in arms, hands, calves, knees (deep muscle

aches & shooting pains)

# recurrent yeast infections (or one yeast

infection that never goes away)

# HSV1 & HSV2 - both orally

# history of sensitivity to touch

# slightly herniated disc in lower back

# history of tingling in hands and feet

# muscle jerks when falling asleep

# trigger point pain (esp. lower back)

# chest and rib pain when pressure is applied

# unrefreshing sleep

# difficulty concentrating

# brain fog

# memory problems (at times)

# dx of depression and OCD (and I suspect GAD),

and mild ADHD - Inattentive type

# lack of stamina

# occasional morning stiffness

# pain in buttocks and thighs (muscle pain?) upon

waking and throughout the day (occasionally; has

been worse in the past)

# menstrual migraines (not every month)

# memory difficulty, especially with name recall

# screwed up cortisol levels

# hypoglycemic attacks

# eye twitching (right eye)

# occasional feeling of general weakness/shakiness

at night; general malaise

# B12 & Vitamin D deficiency

# orthostatic hypotension

# bruise easily - I'm covered in bruises

# recently experiencing severe dehydration,

despite drinking a lot of water. I urinate

constantly. Sometimes I experience

depersonalization/derealization as a result of

dehydration (I think -- because it improves once I

drink).

# Post-exertional malaise

# recently developed an allergy to PPD

# muscle twitches
The last MRI I had was a couple of years ago, and

it was clean. My bloodwork is always normal, with

the recent exception of slightly elevated ANA

(1:160), but the rheumatologist I saw ruled out

autoimmune disease.

I know no one here is a doctor, but do you

recognize these symptoms as possible Lyme and/or

co-infections? Any feedback you can offer is

greatly appreciated.

Definitely keep your appointment with the LLMD.

Many symptoms on your list could be caused by Lyme disease or some other tickborne co-infection such as Babesia.

Be sure to take your symptom list with you to your appointment. Also any recent bloodwork or other medical tests.

Good luck.

Wishing you much luck tomorrow. No matter how difficult it is to face this appointment, at least you have taken one more step on the road to recovery.

Wow, you described my symptoms nearly identical. That's scary. I'd say 95% of them are the same.

I hope your appointment goes well and that you have a good doctor.

You may have already read lots but if you need more links you might check out the suggestions at another new post.

I just loaded lots of links but can't do it again so see if any of the replies here provide new information. Be sure, though, if too much is new here - not to say up late "studying" for your appointment.

If your doctor is an ILADS LLMD - you're miles ahead.

Sleep well, tonight - (Actually, I hope you don't see this until Tues. a.m.)

for lots of links:

With a symptom list like that one and mention of an exaccerbation of symptoms around elevators and fluorescent lighting, I would also investigate 'electromagnetic hypersensitivity'.

I'm not saying you don't have Lyme, but these two often work together. Get yourself an electrosmog detector.
