In your opinion, experience, if taking 300mg of

doryx a day, is it better to take 100mg in the

morning and 200mg in the evening OR should I take

100mg three times a day - morning, noon and night?

I will also be taking zithromax with one of these

doses. Which one is the best to take that with?

Thank you for your help!

If I take doxy three times a day, when can I take

calcium and multi-vitamin since you can't take

this with it?

If taking doxy...doxycycline...the stuff on the med pharmacy sheet is...

Try to take on an empty stomache. (I know, its horrible, but taking it with food is going to make it not as effective.). That means taking it 2 hrs after eating a meal, or 1 hr before eating food. Avoid dairy products, antacids, vitamins as they can affect absorption. Its also best to spade out the dosage to maintain an even level in the body.

As for my experience taking it...I take it twice a day, 2 hrs after a meal with a lot of water, then an hr after taking it I eat saltines or fritos to calm the stomache.

Doxy does make the stomache nauseous... Also, dont take it before going to bed as you should avoid lieing down for a couple hrs after taking it to avoid heartburn.

Id say..take your meds twice a day vs 3x a day if possible..talk to your pharmacist. If taking twice a day, take doxy in morning, take vitamins at lunch, take 2nd doxy at evening.

From my understanding, better to take oral doxy 12 hours apart, so that there is a spike, rather than constant level. I read that there is better response from spike. I am not a doctor. If I can find the reference I'll let you know.

Eat alot of food, then take it, then eat more! Do that 3x per day and drink lots with it and dont lie down afterwards for 3 hours.
