Long story short. Very symptomatic positive WB 23 and 41 IgM.

Put on Doxy 100 mgs twice a day for 30 days. I did OK but still had symptoms.

Doctor increased dose to 400 mgs twice a day.

This is where the problems is happening. I take the first 2 in the AM and I am getting sick and throwing up this started about 4 days into this dose.

It doesn't seem to matter if I eat or not I'm still getting sick.

Yesterday I threw up after about 2 hours and then got a optical migraine (having had one of those in 10 yrs) then got a headache that lasted all day and night.

Can someone tell me what's going on? Could the medicine be too strong for me? Could I be Herxing?

I just don't feel good. Not to mention I'm not getting my period either.

Sami

Try easing into the dosage. I have one med that I'm taking a half dose because a whole dose just knocks me over. I take a whole dose once in a while, and a half once in a while. Eventually I'll be able to handle the whole dose (yes, my LLMD is aware I'm doing this).

Maybe try every other dose as a whole dose. Then when you're handling that, then take a whole dose all the time.

You might ask for Doryx. It's the same drug but easier on the stomach.

Take it with a FULL MEAL, not just a snack. Don't lie down for at least an hour afterward.

I hope that is a typo -- 400 mg twice a day is way too high.

Maximum dose is 200 mg twice a day I think.

Hi,

Sorry that you are feeling so bad and such
a horrible headache!

If you are nauseous to point of throwing up
I think you need a change.

If you are having such a bad headache that is
unusual for you that is another reason that you
need a change.

If you are having this hard of a time, I would encourage you to call your doctor.

(Lowering the dose like sixgoofy suggested is
an option.

We found that liquid form of abx was tolerated
better by my daughter. This could help with
this abx and also with future abx.)

Keep us posted,
kpa

TYPO error....

200 mgs 2 x's a day NOT 400 mgs twice a day.

I will try taking 100 mgs in the AM and 200 mgs in the PM. I'm only having a problem with the AM dose.

Thanks I'm just lost not know what symptoms are from what.

Not to mention I have to figure out how to get all my different meds in through out the day.

Thank you,
Sami

Sami,
I hope you are not taking 800 mg a day!!

Please call your doctor and let them know so they can advise you further.
