I don't think anyone wants to give advice that you medicate yourself differently than the doctor's orders.
However, I think maybe you should be on 400mg/day, but you need to clear that with your doctor.
You might be able to place a call to your doctor, or fax the ILADS guideline under treatment which calls out for 400mg. Doxy to the DR. office.
When taking the higher dose of 400mg. -you will need to take with food.
If you tell the doctor you aren't feeling better and think you need to increase to 400mg/day, the doctor may agree, or move up your appt. to see you first.
Usually there is a fax # on the doctor's business card or paperwork, or call the office.
This of course depends on what other medications you are taking and if you are allergic.
Check with your doctor 1st ok? And fax the doctor the ILADS treatment guide page. Next time you go to your appt. take in the whole guide for the doctor.
Best wishes and Blessings to you Peedie

This is bad but I once said to dr. I lost pill bottle when I went on vacation during the weekend, so he called in and replaced it at pharmacy .
I hated doing this but I did get proper dose of med till I saw LLMD. I figured it was for my health. Good thing I did have enough for 300 mg till next visit.

By all means check with doctor, but from what I understand, Doxy is strongest about 2 hours after you take it and the spirochetes respond (get knocked out) best from spikes of med rather than sustained amount.
Therefore I would suggest (as I am doing) to take the pills close to 12 hours apart.
I am also on 100mg twice a day and concerned that I should be taking higher dose. I have a call into LLMD. My regular doctor was against upping dose, but did write me a script to stay on longer - 4 weeks instead of 3.
