I just started on Zithromax. So far I've only been taking it every other day. It feels likes it's ripping my stomach into shreds.

None of the other ABX have done this; biaxin made me nauseous for a while, but that was tolerable. This is painful. I've already increased my probiotics and I take it with food.

Anyone else?

Zith did this to me as well.

It gave me diarrhea at least every other day, but just about every day my stomach would ache and I'd have sharp pains in my gut. Not sure what exactly the Zith was doing.... or what the sharp pains meant.

My LLMD and I just decided to try something else. Biaxin is sometimes used in place of Zith for people who cannot tolerate it.

I actually wouldn't mind taking Biaxin again, but LLMD wants me to move on. So here I am on Zith.

Zithromax hurt my stomach - I take 500 mg. with 750 mg. ceftin - it bothers my stomach - cramping for a short while, but I take my ultimate flora probiotic and it passes. Hope you feel better soon. What are you taking zith for?

I am on Zith and it gave me diarrhea for a few days when I first started taking it. Then again when my dose was upped. It always went away within the week though.
Hope your tummy gets better soon! Try some ginger tea [Smile]
