Hi everyone!

Hope everyone is doing as well as they can for them! I have a
question... i am still in a quandry about whether or not to return
to dr h in hyde park, Ny, as i am getting nowhere w/ drs in az..... my
quandry is that... i really need a dr who is going to look not only
at my lyme but me as a whole person and other stuff that is going
on...... i just had a test done that revealed that my liver is so
toxic and my entire gastro system is so inflammed and my endocrine
system is also totally destroyed (adrenal fatigue)....also tons of
inflammation in my spine (wondering if that caused my spinal cord
injury ;( ...... the dr did specialized testing to find this out
but he is not a lyme specialist per se... he is recommending me
seeing a naturopath to work on detox, nutrition, and healing gut
inflammation, which is probably leaky gut.... my experience with dr
h has been that he was heavy on abx and when he DID prescribe
protocols, they were usually pretty heavy hitting... i need a VERY
gentle detox and also bioidentical hormones and a detailed nutrition program to help heal my gut and i am not sure if he
does any of that... i'd hate to come all the way into NY and
also have to pay to have phone visits with him if he is not going to
address ME as a person and not just a disease, and without doing a
thorough current eval of what's going on. I feel like I can't find any dr that is comprehensive... either they claim to look at you as a person and get to the cause but know nothing about lyme or they specialize in lyme and won't look beyond it, if that makes sense.. i feel like i have to go to 5 different drs.. which would suck, but would be impossible in this case because none of them would take insurance.

If anyone is currently going to Dr H and getting well, can you
please email me with what he is doing.. i.e. protocols, detoxs, any
hormones if needed, etc... i need to make this decision soon as i
need to book my flight to come into NY... i have to come in week of
sept 21 for a family event (not a happy one ;(

thanks so so much for any feedback!!

best,
nancy

p.s. the naturopath said it doesn't matter what disease i had, that
she treats the person and gets to cause but she knows nothing about
lyme and i am afraid she will not be doing enough allopathic stuff
to help.. she believes all disease can be treated with nutrition,
hormones, and supplements.... i am not too sure after all this has
destroyed in my body that that will be the sole answer for me.

also.. i don't have the energy to check this forum often so if you have an urgent response, can you please email me at [email protected] thanks so much!!

nancy,

i have to SOB, SCROLL ON BY, since i can't read your message.

please break it all up so you can get the neuro lymie input that see your dr!! instructions are below.

nancy, i suggest you delete your private email; there are trolls/troublemakers here who collect personal info like this and send emails galore to you, etc. ***********************************

after you break it all up, go to lower LEFT CORNER AND MARK BOX TO RECEIVE ALL REPLIES IN "HOME" EMAIL INBOX!!! then you don't have to check here for answers ok! they go directly to you.

since i'm NOT accepting PMs, i can't send you one either so have to post on line my above note to you.
********************

When you post or reply, please break up your solid, continuous block text [Smile]
welcome to the board! many of us have neuro lyme where we can NOT read long solid block text and be able to comprehend and read it as is.

please edit your post by CLICKING PAPER/PENCIL ICON to right of your name. that opens up BOTH subject line and body text.

now please break up your WORDY SENTENCES into one sentence paragraphs. Then hit ENTER KEY ``THREE`` after each paragraph; we need that space for comprehension.

if you are NOT a wordy person, you can do 2 or 3 total ok. do this for your entire post.

NOTE: you do NOT have to use "", just show the name of person you are responding to, and then type your comment.

IF you need to use "", PLEASE DELETE "BOLD" CODES so it's regular type text we read vs. the DARK, HARSH/PAINFUL BOLDING.

specifically, delete the first 4 characters of 2ND LINE of a ""

[QB] just delete these 4 characters, and BOLDING is GONE! my eyes will really appreciate that; it's one very bad side effect of my having lyme for 38.5 years!! xox

then go to left hand corner and mark box to receive ALL REPLIES, and click EDIT SEND

we thank you for helping us; [Wink] otherwise, we will SOB, SCROLL ON BY, since we can't read to help you. If I see posts like this, I SOB them; to hard on me. I'm also in the early stages of losing my eyesight from diabetes retinopathy. [Frown]

I think Dr. H looks at people as much more than Lyme and in fact looks at much more than most LLMDs that I have seen. Get the presentation from zenworksproductions.com that he did at LIA a couple weeks ago. It is a great presentation on how he addresses illness, not just Lyme.

well.. he didn;'t so much for me... also he was really really aggressive with treatment and got mad at me when i wasn't improving so my thoughts are he is a great dr just not for someone who needs someone w/ more of a gentle approach

If you didnt like him when you went to him last time, than why would you consider going back?? Maybe you need to find someone new.

I also go to his office but havent seen him yet.. I cant give you an opinion because of that..

Good luck in whatever you do, I am sorry you are struggling so badly [Frown]

thanks so much!! i am looking to go back because he is what i know... he is excellent,. don't get me wrong, but he's aggressive so good for people that can handle lots of meds, supplements, etc.
He is one of the top [Wink]

i am looking for the same approach and i'm having a really hard time finding it. i feel you.

have you considered seeing dr. k in washington state? he has a ridiculously long waiting list (i just got on it, who knows how long it will be), but i think he addresses lyme in the manner that you're seeking.

good luck.

I have the same problem with my BioCranial dr. He is a wellness type dr too and believes he can fix any problem I have.

So far, he hasn't. [and he knows nothing about Lyme]

louis2-

you saw dr h for 3 yrs and didnt improve?

you said currently glutithione is what really is helping to clear your head, etc.

odd, almost all dr h's patients are on IV 2g glut 2-3 pushes a week.

you didnt do this while with him?

not to answer for him, but i think maybe louis meant he needed to go off abx completely to detox his system and dr. h wasn't willing to do that (?). i've thought about seeing dr. h myself but i don't do well with longterm, heavy-duty abx; i prefer a gentler, more natural approach (as does my body) and it is SO HARD to find an LLMD who is well-versed in treating lyme this way. it feels like dr. k is the only one and that is just beyond frustrating.

dr h usually lets the patient do what he/she wants.

if louis wanted off abx, i have to imagine he would have let him.

at my first appt, they gave me the choice of 3 or 4 different protocol choices, one of them being no abx and heavy detox....

sorry it didnt work out for louis. hope it does for me and others. this is such a strange and terrible disease.

cheers

derek

Intoxicated - why not try Dr. Cowden since you're in AZ?

I think he has a clinic in the southwest....

He would probably be my first choice if I could afford it.
