I am asking this because I may get on a waiting list to see one of the big llmd's or one of his associates and in the meantime, might see a naturopath but there don't seem to be many that know lyme... they SAY they can get me well but no nothing about my underlying disease.... they say the disease doesn't matter, it;'s the person.. anyway... if anyone has any experience with any naturopaths not famililar w. lyme or tbd that have gotten you better, i;d love to hear from you (I live in AZ so if they live there or nearby, even better
thanks

Just as with LLMDs, I believe it is vital to get solid recommendations for NDs from other lyme patients or from ILADS.
I have been to many NDs and most of the them are clueless as to knowledge not only of lyme (and it's forms and shapes and cycles) but also regrarding other tick-borne disease.
Biggest clue to run fast and not come back is if they say, as you mentioned, that "the disease does not matter"- Run. Run. Run.
However, there are a few who really do know this field and are working feverishly to learn as much as they can.
Ask around at the lyme support groups.
Maybe others here from AZ will PM you with a name.
Ask in the "seeking doctors" forum here and specify ND or L.Ac.
You might also inquire as to if a prospective ND is a member of ILADS and, if in your state, they are licensed to prescribe any antibiotics. In some states that is so.
You can google for your state's naturopathic board and for their formulary.
If, by chance, you have friends or relatives in Portland, OR or Seattle, WA, there are a few NDs in those areas who are ILADS members and up to speed. In most cases, they work with the patients' LLMDs.
Another idea is to call some of the LLNDs and ask if they have LL colleagues where you live.
And, I do know of a LLMD who has a holistic approach - in Sante Fe, NM. Don't know how close that would be to where you are in AZ.

Have you gotten the 3 separate books by Zhang, Buhner, and Singleton ?
