1.) Ever get a rash on your face or head. I do and im not sure its lyme related. And if it isnt, it would be good to know, as i wont expect it to go away with my current meds.
Ofcourse, i know nobody here is a doctor and im not asking for a diagnoses. Just wondering if anyone else has had this?
I think ive had lyme for up to a decade (if not more) but only have gotten sever symptoms in the past 5 years. But the rash didn't start until about 2 years ago.
It seems i get it on my face, and on my scalp the most. And i think my chest sometimes has a red hue of, potentially, the same rash.
The one on my face comes and goes with varying severity. Usually i can feel it come on as it has a slight burning/itching feeling. Then it turns pretty red and the skin flakes.
Ive had it bad the past few days. Most anything i put in it just makes it angry (ha ha).
At one time they put me on a topical Abx for it. From what i remember it did work. It went away. But after time i must of built up tolerance to the meds because it stopped working.
I was hoping, if it was Lyme related, that it would be one of the first things to go away with medical treatment. But it hasn't.
So im confused if its even Lyme related now, if its a co-infection, or what.
I have pics of this if anyone wants to see.
My second question is wondering if anyone has bought meds online? Specifically Doxy?
If im going to be paying out of my own pocket for all of this at some point (until i can switch providers) I may look into getting meds online.
Just not sure how you know what you order is what you actually get.

Are you taking any medicines, over the counter products or ingesting anything new ?
Often, medicines can cause rashes.
Any new chemical exposures? Lawn chemicals, new car, new carpet, new grooming products?
Even a new shower curtain, drapes or a couch - as it off-gasses, might contribute to a rash.
Can you go scent-free and use only eco-friendly, natural household products? Ecover, Seventh Generation, Bi-o-kleen are just some brands.
Liver support might help if this is a herx or toxic build-up. Many skin problems are related to liver dysfunction.

I just looked at some of your past posts. You have insurance (Kaiser) but no good doctor. You tried a good one but they would not accept you as a self-pay patient.
You've posted here for doctors. So, you just have not found one yet. - I'll save my speech, then.
In case you've not talked to them, there may be some suggestions: This is the only support group registered in Colo.

I haven't been able to tie the rash into anything.
Im on meds. But not the whole time ive been getting this rash so im ruling meds out.
I thought also it might be a reaction to something like laundry soap. But, again, haven't been able to tie it to anything.
I went and got tested by an allergen, to see if that turned up anything, but it didn't.
Eventually i just assumed it was the Lyme. My body seems to have an autoimmune issue. Plars plurnitus (sp?), perecarditis.. So i just assumed the rash was part of that.
But i also assumed that would of been one of the first things that would of cleared up on meds. But it hasnt.
So, now im assuming my assumptions were wrong.
Thanks for the search terms for the pics of the rashes. Ill take a look.
The steroids comment is a good one.
It actually, possibly, falls in line with the rash.
I was put in the hospital a couple years ago due to a combination flare up of Parcarditis and pnemonia.
They had me on an absurd level of steroids. Predsnisone. 60mg, a day, for nearly a year.. and on Predsnisone for a year and a half (just not 60mg).
Sometime at the end of the predisone did i start getting the rash.
On a side note. Ive only been tested for lyme 3 times.
2 of those times i failed. 2 of those times i was on prednisone. I blame the predisone for the failed tests.
And since i tested positive for the EB, ELSIA, and Spinal tap on my 3rd test, its not like i wasn't positive at the time of the earlier tests.
Ive had symptoms far too long and haven't been in a high risk area for even longer for me to think i was negative for the first 2 tests.

Okay, next idea.
If you can't find a doctor near you, what about one in another place? -- maybe one not too far away or maybe one in a town with a family member or old friend (non-judgement environment required, of course).
I seem to be telling everyone to get this book, but if you have not yet, this has great information.

I do have a LLMD who is willing to see me. Although its not till Mid-late August.
Although I shutter at the thought of anything worse happening to me as far as symptoms go I will probably wait.
This doc seems good and probably worth the wait.
Right now im trying to convince my ID doc to prescribe me Doxy after my ceftriaxone runs up (in 2 weeks).
She asked me where i read that you should take them 2 together.
I think i may have worded it that way.
So i replied telling her i didnt want to take them together but that, from what ive read, it may not be a bad idea to follow up with it since im not getting any better off of the ceftriaxone.
So, semi-good news is she didnt say no off the bat.
Im hoping she will put me on that, then that will tide me over until i see the LLMD who already told me, among other things, he was going to put me on Doxy.
