I had such a terrible sore throat last week that I ended up in the doctor's office getting a strep test which was negative. It was so bad that my throat was actually visibly swollen on the left side.

I have heard that others have had a sore throat w/herxing but just wondering if any have actually had visible swelling or if it was so sore it hurt to swallow?

Hi Laura

I am also having the same problem...

Sore throat, red, raw and feel like I am swallowing razors, big swollen glands with 101 fever and flu like symptoms...

I went to ER and Strep was negative too... I still have the sore throat..

It hurts like hell.. I wonder if it maybe could be viral and herx??

I hope you feel beter!!

Mine has gotten really sore over the last week too.

And if I push underneath where that bend is in my jaw bone on either side, that is swollen and sore. It is not quite lymph nodes though where I am describing...where I am describing is more towards my ears.

But then my lymph nodes are also a little swollen.

So it is sore throat on the inside, but then soreness on outside under jaw, maybe creeping back towards ears.

It is not visibly swollen on the outside like yours though.

I have been waking up to these, so I can't figure out if it is just my room being dusty or something. But I am thinking it is a Herx. I am confused too!

This throat glands neck ear thing is a huge part of my picture - always flares during herxes, and also with period flares etc.

Not sure if it Lyme or Bart related.

I was thinking it may be a virus flaring up since I have high EBV and mycoplasma and who knows what else.

I was also very achey before the sore throat came on.

I had this start yesterday evening, and now this morning its even worse.

My right gland is all swollen and real sore when I swallow. Also a lot of thick mucus back in my throat.

I believe it to be viral if anything, because I haven't had this happen since I started treatment.

I'm hoping this doesn't last long and I can fight it off, even in my weakened state. Im just going to take it super easy for now and hope I can get over it in a few days.

If anyone has any tips for herbal, or anything else to treat at this that would be great, I hate not having anything to take.
