rifampicin iv: itchy rash started day 1
This is day 4

Spreading and is getting worse. Home nurse didn't think it was an allergic reaction.

Rash is small red bumps with white center. When itched (I really can't help it sometimes)clear liquid is released. They are very itchy!!!!

Welts up and clusters in round and linear shapes.

Acts like poison oak/ivy, but couldn't be.

I'll call LLMD in am, just wondering if this could be Bart breaking lose.

Please let me know your thoughts...

Hmmm..could it be poison oak/ivy? totally looks like it!
I had an itchy rash on the backs of my thighs with bart but it didn't look like that.

I thought it looked like it too, but not sure how, I've been "banned" from my flower gardens since starting doxy iv.

it hasn't spread to hands, face, ect... like poison oak/ivy would.

heat makes it itch...

Sent pictures to LLMD. Hope I don't have to stop treatment!

I had that on my back after a homeopathic treatment for bart. It itched a bit, but went away very quickly. Came back again after another homeopathic treatment. I do have the "mystery" bug detected in the Fry blood smear. Hiker53

I have not been tested @ Fry- No $$$
LLMD is treating clinical symptoms- no +Bart tests

The more I treat it the more the VEFG is being created.I belive when I started treating with rifampin this marks started....

Marks/small red bumps appeared after treating doxy iv -rash came 1 day after starting iv Rifampin

Do you have them at the bottom of your foot also??

The soles of my feet are clear. Rash is around one of my ankles.

Please list your symtoms and how long did you have it...?

Started 2 years ago when I came down w/ the Mumps.

Extreme fatigue, migraines 24/7, low grade fever of unknown origin, butterfly rash appeared daily, seizure-like activity, joint pain but not major swelling, facial swelling & pain, sound/light sensitivity, sleep disturbance, muscle twitching...
-------------------------------------------------
AVE, I'm sorry you and your family are having so many problems! This just isn't easy.

LLMD is taking me off Rifampin starting today to see if the rash is related. I see her on Monday.
I hate stopping this part of treatment!

How are you treating Bart?

Thanks for your input!

If this is Bart showing more of it's ugly head, I imagine I should continue treatment for Bart...am I right?

Should I change the medication or bite the bullet and keep going?

Has anyone else developed an itchy rash after starting treatment?

Did you continue w/antibiotics? The same?

How long did it take the rash to resolve itself?

Just searching...

I have bumps like these on my legs right now, negative for bart though. I think mine are mosquito bites though, but who really knows?

I had a million of these bumps though concentrated on my left forearm in 1985 or 1986 (appeared out of nowhere), and then again in 1989 over both of my ankles (following flea bites).

In 1985/86 I was working on a military base though and was likely being exposed to radar.

And then in 1989 I was living near a nuclear power plant.

So though I do believe these bumps are related to one of these bugs (possibly bart?), I think exposure to EMF/RF is likely involved.

Are you living in a high-EMF/RF area?
