Hi everyone,

Well, I talked to LLMD office tonight. I have been posting recently about the depression I have since starting treatment again.

It started off with a little anxiety and just feeling gloomy. Now I feel really depressed all day long. I also have that terrible feeling of doom.

The NP...whom I love...at first told me to start pulsing the Mepron. Start with 3 days on and 4 days off. Then he changed his mind and said to stop it all together until the depression lessons. Once the depression lets up I am to start my Bicillin shots. No more Mepron until I go back next month and we talk further.

I hope this is the right answer for me at this point. I was scared to call the office since I am a new patient and have only been there once. I didn't want them to think I was a nut right off the bat. He was very supportive though.

Has anyone else had to stop Mepron because of depression/anxiety?

By the way, my latest Igenix results came back.
Here are my IGG positive bands-30,31,34,41 and 58.

He said my IGM was negative but had 41 positive and a weakly positive 39. I am assuming he meant that 39 was IND.

I don't know what other ones showed IND. I am getting a copy mailed to me. That's my first positive Lyme.

Advice about the Mepron would really be appreciated. I feel like I have failed myself since I had to stop it.

Best wishes, kit

I did four months of Mepron and it did make me more depressed. The depression soon lifted when I finished up the Mepron.

I then tested reactive to babs so my new LLMD wanted me back on babs meds. He put me on Malarone due to my Mepron depression. I did fine on the Malarone. I only did half a dose which is one pill a day.

Mepron gets me down in the dumps, too. I do the 3 week on/1 week off to give myself a break. I seem to notice the depression more after a few days of restarting it.

I think methyl B-12 shots helps my depression quite a bit overall. I notice a difference if I stop them for a while.

I started my B-12 shots again also so maybe there's a connection.

Yes, mepron depression. My daughter didn't smile for five months.

She is now back on it, but we are starting her at 1/8th tsp daily. She is tolerating it.

I guess I'm the odd ball. Mepron increased my energy tremendously and I was not depressed. I was before I went on it.

I was on it for 3 months, now I'm doing bicillin and zith and finding myself a little depressed.

Going to ask the doc about B12 shots today.

Thanks everyone,

I do take b12 shots too. I just got the Methyl kind 2 days ago. Hopefully that will start to help.

It sounds like most have hung in there with it and continued on the Mepron.

I wasn't really even talking to my children. I feel like a zombie.

The zithro is doing it to me this time around too. I guess I just can't win.

I'm just on Mepron for 2 weeks and felt a huge

increase in energy and huge decrease in sweating right away. I

hope it doesn't lead into a depression because I

have not found anything to help with the

sweating since I started all these meds in 2004.
Blessings,
just jan

Hi just Jan,

My depression started with my second dose so hopefully you will be safe.

That is great that you feel better already. I get the same feeling..usually from Zithromax. I think it hits my bartonella pretty good.

Best wishes,
kit

I was terribly depressed when on Mepron. For me, it felt like the world was coming to an end. I was miserable; in a whole-nother state of mind. It sucked! I am now on malarone and art.

That is exactly how I felt too. Doom and gloom and world is coming to an end.

I felt completely separated from myself.

I didn't take any Mepron today and it has lessened a little bit. This morning was rough again. I hope tomorrow morning is better.

I hope the Malarone works out better for you.

Seems like it is one way or the other for folks. I am in the rare category of feeling fantastic on Mepron and Zith. Started 9 days ago and am noticing a tremendous amount of energy unlike I have known for a long time. Also, i did not have sweating issues so much as feeling hot a lot. That has changed - it is triple digits where I am at right now and have been running my AC 5 degrees higher during the day than a couple of weeks before. Seems everyone is different with Mepron.

Don't feel like you have failed - you have to take wise steps and balance all issues!!
