A couple weeks ago, had a Hotline call from a young lady who is now being treated for Lyme.
Symptoms: joints, fatigue, blacked out in May. Had a case of "ring worm" as a child. She's wondering if it could have been Lyme (decades ago).
E-mailed her today to see how she's doing.
She's taking usual dose of Doxy - 200 mg per day. Since she weighes 115 lbs, she thinks the stronger dose would be too much. She wants to know if 200mg per day is enough.
Anyone have info about amt of Doxy being prescribed by patient's weight?

I took 200 twice daily (400 mg per day) and I only weighed 123 at the time.

98 lba., had a very hard time even taking 100mg, I do think weight matters with meds. I enede up on IV Doxy, and had an easier time with it.

Begin at 100mg x 2, then increase up to 200 x 2 as tolerated.

Thanks to all of you for your responses. Your answers agreed with my opinion, but I don't have medical training. I rely a lot on experience and what I've learned from y'all.
It would be nice if there was something in print for her to show her Dr. She has Dr B's Guidelines.
I hope that she'll join the LymeNet Family. This group has meant the world to me.
Thanks again for your help!!! If anyone else has opinions, please add them.
