Has anyone else had these two together? At the same time I was diagnosed with LD, I also found out I had systemic strep. I had had strep throat 3 months before and I guess my immune system was so busy fighting the Lyme, that it couldn't fight off the strep throat and it went systemic.

Haven't run across anyone else with this combo, but would like some info on the seriousness of these two together if there is anyone out there with any knowledge of this?

I think it was Linda Mattman that wrote about borrelia feeding off of strep. I developed 90% of my symptoms 17 years afer being infected, right on the heals of 3 back to back strep throat infections.

My kids have lyme and persistent strep.

They have an acronym for it PANDA. NIH has
done some research on it. It can cause many
symptoms, for us nuerocognitive. and other
lyme-like symptoms.

We are focusing on strep treatment with my son
and it is helping. We started with abx and have
switch to STP, a product that is colostrum with
antibodies specific to strep, and Noni drops, with detox supplements.

He got his tonsils out recently for this and they were 'pocked' which is a sign if previous infection and damage. He and my daughter improved
significantly after tonsillectomy improvement
visible in three weeks.

My dr. feels that my son's issue is now the strep
more than the lyme and co-infections that we have
treated. Who knew???

When I went to my first LLMD appointment 2 weeks ago he told me the same exact thing systemic strep and Lyme. I am being treated with Oral Omnicef for both.

How are you being treated? Just wondering if its similar to my treatment

For the first month I was treated with Flagyl and Zithromax. Now I am just on Zithromax. I have been in treatment for 9 weeks. I go back to LLMD in 3 weeks.

What did your LLMD say about how strep and Lyme relate, or even if they do? Did he give you any information on having these 2 together?

Yes, do a search here on the topic. It will bring up past discussions.
