I am going to my regular dr today for pain in my side.

I finished 30 days of doxy and still have rib soreness, foggy mind, anxiety, muscle soreness.

I am guessing that the doxy probably wasn't what I needed.

I have been finding out that I should be treating barts.

What is the trx for barts? Rifambin??

Hi Stefanie,
Who prescribed the doxy for you, your primary care dr. or an llmd?

30 days is not a long time on abx if you are treating lyme. Are you newly dx? Did you test pos for lyme? Have you had any other testing done for coinfections?

You mention Bartonella, why do you think it is bart?

Is the pain along the ribs? Does it hurt when you touch it? Lyme likes to "hide" or "hang out" in the connective tissue. You have this connective tissue (Fascia) around your ribs.

If this is the pain you have, and I am not dx you and I am not a dr., it can be caused by the infection in this area.

This is Stefanie, I am under another name.

My arm is tender to the touch, like the muscle on the side.

My ribs hurt in the front when you press on them and in the back. If I stretch my arm up over my head to the right it feels better.

My FP treated me with the doxy. I actually just got 30 more days to take today.

I see an ID dr on Aug 11th.

I say barts, because I have extreme anxiey and Heart palps.

First I would suggest you to see a LLMD as there might be other RBD involved.

Second BART need AZITHRO and RIFAPMIN or the big gun LEVAQUIN ...

Have you tried finding a lyme literate md (LLMD)?

You can post in seeking doctor on this site or go to www.lymediseaseassociation.org and get a doctor referral.

What did your doctor say about the pain?
