well, this is my 8th day on flagyl. I am now on 500 mg 2x day. I am supposed to do 14 days total. But, yesterday, my left ear started echoing. I had this very mildly before, so it is probably lyme and not a side effect. I have a phone call in with my llmd in 5 days, but I am not sure if I should just stop now, and see what happens with the ear, or keep going with this dosage, or reduce, ??I can call him to tell him, but I am going to talk to him on Monday anyways, not sure what to do, could this be the flagyl working here? With this much flagyl in my system, I have not herxed dramatically. Mostly in my ears and eyes I have seen worseing of symptoms. But my opther symtoms have not worsened with this drug. SO, not sure what to do.

Hi,

My kids and I took Flagyl and it is very strong.

You are having a significant reaction, so I would
discontinue until you can get direction from the
doctor. Our LLMD had us at least take a break when we had too much flare (herx), then reevalute
dosage and choice of drug.

We could not do more than 250mg for 3 days per month.

There is an alternative to Flagyl used by those
who don't tolerate it well. Unfortunately, I am
blank on the name. Someone here should know.
