I'm collecting artwork (crayon drawings, watercolors, finger-paintings- doesn't matter what kind of art)

by children who see Dr. Jones (please let me know if this is the case) as well as by children of any age with Lyme.

I will matte the artwork I receive and identify its creator with a first name and a last initial.

The artwork will be sold on August 7th in New Haven, CT at the special showing of UNDER OUR SKIN in honor of Dr. Jones, who will be there.

100% of the sales proceeds will go directly into Dr. Jones' legal defense fund.

If interested, please email me at:

[email protected]

or PM me here,
or reply here and I will PM you with whatever additional information you need.

Sorry for the short notice in requesting these donations.

thanks- Dilly

Dilly, I have an amazing set of drawings that my daughter did. When she was ill every face she drew had a frown (for 18 months) and within 2 weeks of starting treatment, every face had a smile.

I don't know how to put a picture into this message, I will send you a pm with my personal email.

Thanks BettyG for sending this important project note out. I've had my head in the clouds and would have missed it otherwise.

[Big Grin]

Hey ho dill pickle...

Great idea! Me hopes you get LOTS of pretty pictures to sell for Dr. Jones. I'd REALLY love to see them. Wish I could go there for the event!!!

Thank you for taking time from your obligations to make the LONG trip to CT... and do all the arranging for this project to help our dear doctor.

I know I am too BIG to be a kid... BUT... and yes my butt is too big too....

BUT...

I REALLY have a desire to make one of those macaroni pictures. I'll bet I haven't made one of them for, heck... at least a couple of years. HA!

OK.. more like 30 years.. but who is counting?

Not sure I have macaroni... but if I made a picture... do you think you could get a dollar for it?

My bet is ALL of the kids pictures would be MUCH better than mine because I am the WORLD'S WORST artist... BUT...

Maybe someone would pitch in a dollar just to have it taken off the table so it doesn't distract from the art work the kids do... which I KNOW will be beautiful.

If I can make a picture... send me an email so I can mail it to you ASAP.

And don't forget to tell Dr. Jones that Tincup loves him!!!

Betty G- every time i think you have out-awesome-d yourself you go do something even more marvelous.

THANK YOU so much for passing along the word about the kids art!!

If you need an email to provide folks for me it is:

[email protected]

And TinCup--

Sweetie grandma-to-be, alas, but I think we'll pass on your kind offer of noodle art, at least for this occasion.

TinCup art is just too SPECIAL to be lumped in with stacks of other art.

But I SO appreciate the offer. [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

and,

a great big THANK YOU to all the wonderful parents who have PM'd and emailed me directly to offer their childrens' artwork.

I am still collecting, by the by, because I have a feeling no one attending the celebration for Dr.Jones on Aug 7th will be able to resist scooping up one of these incredible gifts of childrens' art from the heart.

What a special bunch of people you all are..

Excuse me?

I looked for an email from you to tell me where to send a picture and when it didn't come... I checked back here because I KNEW you couldn't pass up a chance to have some work from meeeeeeeeeeeee.

But what do my eyes see here?

You say you DON'T want my macaroni art?

[Eek!]

Well, I'm outta here! I'm going to go sit in the corner and cry!

And if my noodles get wet and soggy.. it is YOUR fault Missy!

[Big Grin]

Any other artists out there? They still want pictures.

Just don't tell them your name is Tincup and they'll take it!!

Oh master of noodle-art Tin:

i see that you missed my meaning entirely.

your art-offer is simply too..what is the word....UNIQUE for this occasion.

but i have an idea. a splendiferous idea.

if you play with noodles and paper I will pay you that dollar and proudly hang up your...art.. on the wall of the Dilly Lyme Patient Hostel Guest Suite.

And I will gladly add your contribution to the published list of reasons, including cabana boys, that the Dilly hostel is the coolest ticket in town for visiting Lymies.

Deal?

And Robin.. I will be taking pics of the art and of the event itself--many many-- and will be sure to post them as soon as i get back.

Hmmmmm???

Is that the same room where you keep your cow for making ice cream?

If so, throw in some ice and a chocolate bar... we MIGHT have a deal.

If my daughter (almost 7) gets back from her grandparents' house in time, maybe I could have her draw a picture of mommy, she knows I'm sick, doesn't understand why, but maybe she could draw a picture of a PARENT who is sick and almost debilitated from this disease.

P.S. For her age, she is a great drawer! (is that a word?) lol. I've been up since 3am.

Nessa- thanks for your offer (AND HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON!).

This time around the artwork will be by children only.

But...I suspect another round of collecting up artwork will be coming up in the not-too distant future.

and, umm, TC? I am trying to imagine you in the guest suite with a cow, noodle art, ice, and a chocolate bar, and no matter how much I try, I just can't seem to think of a good scenario when all of that and you are in the same place.

The guest suite has standards to maintain, you know. Nix the chocolate bar and we'll talk.

Just read the last two posts - I dunno - possibly to also include children's drawings who have been affected by the Lyme disease epidemic? There are many children of sick parents and they have a lot of feelings about it.

Anyway, I like the idea of Lymies getting to make and post macaroni art on the wall at Dilly's guest house. Be sure to include some fusilli too for creative expression about the bacteria. Pasta la vista!

This weekend we will go through the kids' artwork. Could I mail it on Monday from MN to you?

My 17 year old is a photographer. Would photos be OK? He has some of the photos at Deviant Art.

My kids are former patients of Dr. J.

Robin- ( pasta la vista... [lol] [lol] )

As I mentioned to Nessa, this collect-the- art project has been limited in terms of the short time available to get it done, as well as the focus of the art itself.

There has been so much interest expressed I think it is safe to say that it will not be the last tome we collect and sell Lyme art for Dr. Jones. [Smile]

PAB- sorry, i was away for the weekend, came back a day later than I had planned, and so just saw your generous offer.

Am sending you a PM.
