I got the results of my coinfection tests yesterday. I am negative everywhere except the IgG Bartonella (past infection).
I really feel that I have Bart and want to treat it.
I am currently on the Cowden Protocol and I'm thinking of adding HH capsules and Allicin.
Any opinions?
Due to the expense I think I want to go back on ABX and continue the HH and Allison - any recommendations? Prior to Cowden (started in May, 2008) I was on Biaxin, Amox and Samento. It seems like Rifampin is a good option - has anyone used this as well as HH and get good results? Should another ABX be added to the Rifampin?
I want to explore any possibilities in the next six weeks to come up with a proposed plan for my Dr.

It depends on the strain of Bartonella. HH would be useful, Rifampin may be helpful. Then of course there is Bactrim, Levaquin etc -- but I don't know which is appropriate given your specific symptoms or what strain you have.

I don't have a rash (except for a petecia type rash when I make changes in my treatments - these are on my thighs or arms) or stretch marks - my symptoms are:
Psychological - anxiety, OCD type behavior Joint pain that does not "migrate" and is on both sides of body Ice Pick headaches and other headaches recurring sore throat Vulvar Pain immediate return of sypmtoms when going off ABX bone pain heel pain Fatigue
I have more but that's all I can remember at the moment.
Also, I've probably been infected for many many years (possbily 30 or more)

I just received and have been taking, the HH and Coptis capsules, recommended by Zhang. My question, is whether these herbs along with Rifampin and Doxy, should be good for a "BLO". I've been on the Rifampin and Doxy for about 1 1/2 months, with little change of symptoms. I added these herbs in about 3 days ago.

Hi Mojo, I am going to be treating "possible" BART also and my LLMD just prescribed me Levaquin. I have similar symptoms to you but my list was oh so long this past week. I hate regressing back to a time I don't want to relive
Hope you find the right treatment. Keep us posted.

My Dr. appointments were four weeks apart - I think my test results were in before the four weeks but I just waited for my appointment.
Thanks for the encouragement, Gert - I wish the same for you - good health.
Thanks everyone for your kind replies.

I've been on bactrim (with zith and mino and mepron) for about three months. It is definitely helping.
my antibody tests for bart only showed 'possible past infection' but the Fry smear was 'suggestive of bartonella.'
