I'm all for protecting these doctors, who in my opinion, are truly angels...however, I'm not sure I see the harm in the information we are sharing on here...it would be one thing if we were relaying exact treatment protocols and horrible patient outcomes.
We all have things that are a MUST when seeking out a LLMD and other things we are willing to 'give' on...I think these exchanges are very important in terms of helping us find the right fit for our situation and personality.
I really appreciate all of the exchanges on this thread....

I'm coming into the conversation late, and am hoping it will be OK to keep it going given the concerns just raised. I am seeking some opinions about treatment with Dr. F in VA and/or Dr. H in VA(two locations). If anyone can help, please send me a PM.
Thanks for your help!

I don't see anything wrong with sharing information. It is only that certain information should be shared off of a public board. Sorry, but the rules have been put into place for very good reason.
I did not create them; I only try to follow them, and when I see a need, also try to inform others.
There are several posts here that use first and last initials and cities of practice. If that isn't enough to spell it out, we are then given the next of kin! This clearly violates the rules.
It is also my opinion that notes on physicians solicited in private should not be shared publicly. To ME, this is a violation of confidence.

I have a Dr. F in Virginia who is female, but I don't have any information on her besides contact information.
I have a Dr. H, but I'm not sure if it's the same person you're looking for.
[08-21-04]Patient Report: "Dr H, MD is using the Bowen test as well as diagnosis by symptom. He is working with our family. We are using Cat's Claw and will soon be using Carnivora. We are not using anti-biotics. He uses functional medicine"
[07-18-08]Patient Report: "I've been seeing him since May. I started seeing him for two other issues that he specializes in and he determined that I am in a Lyme Disease relapse and that my disease was in cyst form rather than cured over the last six months. He's also uncovered many systems of my body that are out of whack. He's treating me with antibiotics and also probotics and supplements to rebuild immunity and create balance and optimal health. This is part of the functional medicine approach which is like integrative medicine with some differences. I think that I'm improving and that he's a good Dr. I have some concerns about coinfections that might not have been caught (although he's found many other problems that others have not, including that I still have Lyme! However, I have some reservations. It's difficult getting responses(can take a week and several calls often) to calls about side effects, Herx reactions, important changes in me that effect my treatment. He has a very small office staff. I'm thrilled that he's got me on a course of treatment that seems to be working, but I do recommend him with reservation due to the issues above. My recommendation is due to his diagnostic ability, the helpfulness of the functional approach, and his empathy(he's a very kind, bright man), but again, I'm recommending him with caution about co-infections and responsiveness issues?"

I'm hoping to learn if anyone has had long-term treatment with positive outcomes or has opinions of LYME and co-infection treatment with Dr. F in VA or Dr. H in VA. It will help me to make a decision about my best course of treatment.
Thank you for your help.

I think that's a very important point. What may be worthwhile to some of you seeing this doctor with the staff issue, is to write him a relatively brief letter, perhaps half a page, explaining how you feel and what you're experiencing. If you get enough patients together writing different letters to express this concern, it may be helpful.

Dr. R in New York. He's been so good for my daughter and now for me. The positive change in my daughter over the past several months has been considerable.
My wife and I say all the time how glad we are that we found him to treat our daughter.
Paul.
