I took levaquin almost a year ago which caused severe ear ringing (maybe some low lever permenant damage). Since then, if I take biaxin or zith, within one or two doses I notice a dramatic increase in ear ringing with some pressure as well. In the past, before I ever took levaquin, the biaxin worked pretty well for me so I'm pretty dissapointed that I can't seem to tolerate it anymore. I know that doxy, mino and ceftin are not helpful to me at all and I cannot take bactrim because of the sulfa component...does anyone know of other abx's that I could try that shouldn't set off the ear ringing? I have chronic bart. I've never been treated for babs because I don't have those symptoms and never tested positive for it though it is now a consideration by my LLMD. Any suggestions! Scottie

I know that zithromax caused ear ringing for me and now I can't take it anymore.
I take biaxin without those side effects.
Maybe too high a dose?

I would go off, It could be a sign of ototoxicity.
I know for me Biaxin at first gave me a huge herx, then helped, then I got chronic MCS and vertigo from it.
Still I cant go more then 5 months off it. I get very sick and my feet kill me and I cant breathe.
You know the saying "damned if you do, damned if you dont."
