So now I'm on Day 9 of Flagyl, and from other posts thought this drug would run me through the ringer. But nothing! I feel fine for the most part, slightly tired on some days but nothing out of the ordinary. No herxing.

Could this mean I'm on the wrong antibiotic, or is it still working even though I'm not herxing? [confused]

I think that means "fantastic!" - your body is taking the treatment well. A herx is best to be avoided.

I've been on Flagyl for probably 2 weeks now, and nothing big. I've been on iv abx for only 2 days and feel like crap.

Nessa,

Sounds like the IV are obviously more potent, more effective maybe? I'll be trying those next if the oral don't do the job.

It means that your load is very low comparing to others.

Also it means that you have less coinfections load ( if ANY ) comparing to others like me that might have had this disease for 30 years.

14 months ago ..I was in bed totally bedridden.

Today is the 10th day of flagyl ( pulsing ) I was able to get out with my children and stay on the store for 4 hrs.NO way I could do it in the last 5 years.I would be tired to death.

Also last year When I was taking it ..I could not walk and TOO toxic ( bugs itself-neurotoxins and drugs on top of it) .

So you have less toxids and less bugs than others.

THAT IS A GOOD THING!

Do you take the generic Flagyl or the regular Flagyl? I hear there's a big difference and that the regular is better and the generic gives side effects.

So glad you are improving.

How can you tell the difference between generic and regular Flagyl? I think it's generic but don't know.

EXACTLY and Flagyl has been the "wonder drug" for me. I've been on it since July 11th and never herxed on it. In fact, day two I had renowned energy I had not seen in years.

Good luck with your Flagyl treatments!!

Thanks all. I don't think I have as high of bacterial load as someone else mentioned. And I've only had chronic symptoms for 1.5 years before getting an accurate diagnosis. I used to think that was a long time until I joined this board!! [Smile]

I was expecting to go down hill on this, but just the opposite. Feel pretty good most days and like someone else just said, I even have MORE energy on some days.
