I am currently on Rifampin and Levaquin, a short two week burst as prescribed by my LLMD.
Another practicioner, my nutritionist, gave me a supplement made by Standard Process called lactic acid yeast, which she said is a probiotic and good to take when on abx.
My question is this - if probiotics are supposed to help you avoid yeast overgrowth, why would a supplement containing yeast be helpful? I just don't get it.
I also took one the other day and felt pretty lousy (lightheaded) for a few hours afterward.
Thanks.
