I sent my leftovers to another member here for her daughter. I just posted a thread about what I had and then did the exchange through PM and private e-mail.
Some cannot afford these things, is it legal? I don't know, but it's legal for docs to refuse to treat us and put us in this situation.....I chose to remain ignorant about legality and help where and when I was able.
Your choice.

15 14" Minibore extension set with male/female luer locks & pinch clamp (mfg Churchill Medical Systems)
16 Flolink positive displacement device Luer activated valve for IV access (mfg Maxter)
4 Statlock Picc Plus Catheter Stabilization Device
There are a few odds and ends as well.
I'd prefer this go to someone who's really in dire financial straits and seriously needs it.
Until tomorrow afternoon, I'm still praying for that miracle.

Well, it's not exactly a miracle; more like a stay of execution.
It took a lot of fancy footwork, faxes, and phone calls. The order to pull my picc has been cancelled - for now.
I was originally approved for 4 months of IV Rocephin, with reviews every 28 days.
After the first 28 days, the insurance company decided to decline any further benefits regarding the IV meds or maintenance.
Still trying to figure out just exactly why that happened. I'm not any better, so my status hasn't changed.
Anyhoo, I'm on hold for now. The dr's office is currently submitting a claim for the picc maintenance alone, until the ins co makes a decision on the meds.
In the meantime, the Heparin is still available for anyone who needs it. I can't use it because I'm allergic.

I'm pleased you are able to continue with IV treatment.
Just to clarify re: the IV supplies and legalities attached...
Supplies are legal to share with anyone. Rx medications, however, are NOT legal to share.
SOME physicians or veterinarians will also take supplies and meds from you to redistribute accordingly.
The ins co refused to pay for picc maintenance while we're awaiting the outcome of the appeals process, so the picc's being pulled Tuesday.
Still deciding what to do about the saline/heparin. Might see if there's a vet around here that'll take it (thanks to Melanie's suggestion).
Everything else is up for whoever needs it.

It doesn't take much to maintain the PICC yourself. You just need to change the bandage (once a week for a central line, I don't know about a PICC) and flush with saline. Is there any way you could afford the IV meds yourself? If not, if you at least keep the PICC in you won't have to have it redone.

There's no way we could afford the meds, let alone the supplies, on our own.
Would have to sell the house, hubby, and my soul. Not sure what we'd get for those last two anyway considering their condition.
The insurance company said they'd pay for picc reinsertion if the decision came out in my favor. Throw in a valium and I'm all for it if it comes to that.
Honestly, at this point, I'm just plain tired. I've decided to give up on this particular battle - not the war.
