Yea it confirms you have lyme disease. If u havent done the western blot, theres really no reason for it now, unless u want it for more proof or other reasons. 40 is low mine was a 4 then a 19 havent done one in along time now. How are you feeling? brian

Hi Lyme,
Normal is over 60, but my LLMD recommends at least 120 before stopping abx.
Mine was a 45. It actually is an indication how your immune system was impacted by lyme. She gave me AG Immune to take so that it will help it go up.
Funny thing is, I do feel better even tho the number is low. LLMD says it has to go up before stopping abx.
Alot of people discount this test. Strange! Posts: 1127 | From atlantic city, nj | Registered: May 2008

Yes, because some with high test results feel horrible and some with low results feel good. Go figure.

Thanks guys. My most recent Igenex western blot was positive IGM too. I was just wondering what the concensus was about the CD-57. I appreciate the answers.
Also I still feel like garbage...heavy fatigue still and even though I manage to work I can't do much else....

That's strange, my LLMD wants patients to be over 200, clean Fry Labs smear, and symptom free before stopping treatment.

Labcorp CD57 is time sensitive - That is to say, every day that you wait after collection, the less accurate the test becomes.
Make sure you have blood drawn on a monday or tuesday at the latest, so the test is performed in a day or two. This will provide the most accurate results.

If you are treating Lyme 120 seems to be a minimum number to have before stopping tx.
My LLMD would switch me to herbal tx if mine had gone up that much. It hasn't. At last check it was 39.

Thanks for the replies....I guess that I have a ways to go...
My symptoms haven't budged much so I'll probably have to hit things harder....

Byron... What about people whose CD57 will NEVER get above 100 or 200??? What then?
Some patients immune systems never totally recover so they have to stay on low dose abx for a long time once they get where they want.

I just replied to your other thread & then saw this one.
I do believe that Lyme is the only thing KNOWN to impact the CD-57 like that.
A CD 57 of "26" got me thwapped with IV Rocephin again WITH Biaxin added this time.
Sorry to say, welcome to the club!

Augh, the CD57 is kind of annoying. Mine is only 9... it was 18 and now it's down to 9 and has stayed at 9 for about half a year.
My husband's is only 26.

Truthfully, I feel better now at 9 than when my CD57 was at 18. At 18, I was at my sickest and was going from doc to doc to try to find out what was wrong with me.
I've been treating about a year and a half and my CD57 is down to 9. Not sure exactly what this means.
All I know is that I physically am doing better than I was. I'm having more good days. I still have bad days, though. It's still a roller coaster ride for me, but it is better than it was.
