OK...I know that the ELISA test is not accurate. My LLMD said so. It's definitely Lyme, and the LLMD said it was diffused lyme.
But the Emergency Room had run this test anyway, and I just got the results. I don't know what it even says.

That someone wants to make a lot of money from a useless test.
It may also mean that your insurance company has pressure on doctors to run this test so that they can get out of coverage.
You say the "ER" - find out who and if you did not agree, don't agree to them getting payment for this test. That is likely not to be able to be arranged, but it should be if you did not agree to it, it is a waste of money.

According to the range they give, it would appear that this was a "normal" test.
The "F" stands for ???
It is true, that a clearer explanation should have been on the results page. Did you get the full results?

Believe it or not, my insurance company had no problem paying for the western blot, which I will get the results of on Monday. My LLMD is even covered by the insurance for office visits.
This was a trip to the ER before there was a diagnosis of lyme in the first place. So, yeah, it was agreed to. Because I didn't know any better at the time.
But I still don't know what the results even mean. It's a very weird paper. I'll definitely take it to my LLMD, because he asked for copies of my paperwork from the ER.

The "F" stands for fail, which is what the ER doc who ordered the test did.

The diagnosis came about because of the rash, and flu-like symptoms.
Went to a bad doctor, who didn't even care that there had been weight loss of 5 pounds in two days.
Wound up in the ER. The nurse said, maybe lyme, and they did this test. As soon as we heard that it might be lyme, we looked for an LLMD.
Saw the LLMD who immediately diagnosed diffused lyme, based on all the horrid long list of symptoms and the rash. The LLMD ordered a western blot and is looking for co-infections.
The LLMD did warn us that testing can be unreliable though.

which may be changed on monday, according the the LLMD, depending on how it's all being tolerated.
the LLMD was worried about the fast weight loss, and didn't want any more vomiting. But the weight loss has now stopped.

How much doxy is typical? Do you think the doctor will up it based on the western blot?
