I had horrible ear pain, occasional ringing, and other strange noises in my ear until I stopped taking Azithromycin!

Zithro is VERY Hard on many patients' ears and can be toxic.
However, lyme, itself, often attacks the ears.
I have so many questions for you - are you getting treatment?
Do you have a good LLMD?
Can your LLMD refer you to a LL ENT or neurotologist?
Are you addressing fungal issues ?
Do you clench your teeth? Do you have TMJ? That can hurt ears.
Does magnesium help?
Know that if the lyme is properly addressed (and you have excellent liver detox) this should help.
but, on the other hand, you should avoid all ototoxic drugs, OTC, foods. There are links at the thread below.
Hopefully, this will help:

It was one of my first symptoms along with TMJ and both before abx. It felt like bugs were crawling out of my ear and really hurt.
Removing my amalgam fillings resolved the ear and jaw pain.

Cranial nerve 7 and 8 are often involved.
Cranial-sacral therapy - if GENTLE - not snap and crack.
Upledger Institute trains doctors in this.

The myl. sheath that surround nerves is damaged in lyme so that also can be part of the puzzle.

I am currently on Doxy 100mg 2X daily, Ketoconazole 3X weekly.
I am going to see my LLMD for the first time in Sept. and I already have and ENT b/c I first started having dizziness and ear pain before the muscle and joint pain.
I do have TMJ and have had it for 5 years. It is currently under control. Even when my TMJ was flared up I never had inner ear pain.
