Does Mepron make you feel like vomiting? I'm able to keep it down, but just barely. UGH!!

Don't have that problem--I always take it with lots of food and in a small amount of orange juice or the taste really gets to me!!!

Anti-nausea--ginger works great for this. I like to grate up some fresh ginger and put it in my tea.

Best,

Cass A

You are supposed to consume 23 g of fat with each dose, so that may help. I noticed ice cream works especially well for me, even when I get a quick pang of nausea. That and sitting verrrrry still, not getting up and down or walking around. If you can have others bring you things, or just have everything you might need closeby, ready.......that helps.

Even after the onset of nausea, food helps me.

Be sure you eat enough. Also, as previously mentioned, fat is important.

Don't lie down afterward, try to at least stay in a semi-upright position.

Prilosec helped me with several of the drugs that made me nauseous. I took it once per day.

I'm trying to avoid the ice cream, even though (I believe)23 grams is about a TBS. and a half. So, I've been taking it with coconut oil with macadamia nuts. It seems I hardly taste the oil when taken with the nuts, and they're both very healthy.

You'd think I'd gain weight, but I am losing. And I eat plenty--just no sugar, anything with gluten, and not too many carbs since they turn into sugar.

Everybody's different, but I haven't had nausea with this combination.

Anyway, hope you find something to help you. [Smile]

Wouldn't you know it? This is the first time I've had nausea when taking mepron with coconut oil and macadamia nuts--right after reading this thread! [confused] Power of suggestion?

Sorry daisy. [Frown]

I take my Malarone (Mepron when I was on it) with a piece of Ezekiel Bread (I'm not gluten free), coconut oil, and almond butter. At dinner, I just add some coconut oil or olive oil to whatever I'm eating if I think it doesn't have enough fat.

I also have not gained weight and have actually found that the fat keeps me full. I have to remember it's time to eat!

Remember, it could be the Zith causing the upset.

Oh, 6, I would never blame you or anyone for this. It could've happened even if I didn't read this thread.

You do a lot of good on this board, and I'd give you a lot of slack anyway. [kiss]

If I were just drinking a tablespoon of olive oil, I think I'd be struggling not to vomit, too!!!! You CAN eat fun, high fat stuff with it. It's the one time in your life your doctor will support a high fat diet!!!

My husband was incessantly taking my picture one day .... I was taking my Mepron, so I stuck my tongue way out at him, he snapped a pic, and now that's his wallpaper on his computer. [Big Grin] (off topic, LOL).

Actually I've been doing that lately. Slightly ward\m a Tbls of olive oil, take it then eat something. It's really not that bad.

I'm doing alot of things I thought I could never do. And BTW, I have had no upset stomach with the regimen I'm on.

Mepron makes me extremely nauseaous, to the point of wanting to vomit. I dont really have high fat foods, but I usually take it with some peanut butter... not sure what else to take it with,.. but it is my least favorite med.. I am also on zith which also causes stomach upset...

I wish I had some advice, but nothing seems to work for me as far as getting rid of the nausea

I dont really get the nausia but since ive started it i have been getting reall bad fatigue. Is this anything to be concerned about?

It says that its one of the sidde effects and to contact your dr if you have it. Anybody else get the bad fatigue from mepron?

Another thing i just started getting the other day is feeling like i have to pee all the time. Sort of like a stinging feeling. Im not sure if its possible to get a uti while on mepron and biaxin?

Has anyone heard of that?

I called my dr and am waiting to get a call back
