Hello everyone I hope everyone is having a pleasant day! I have been on orals for about a year now with a little improvement here and there. I had just finished a 1 month round of Claforan I.M. injections and uh...ya those are pleasant twice a day. I had some improvment on that as well but I am not pleased with the progress.
I called my doc and asked him if would like me to do another round and he suggested I.V. My insurance company rocks!!!! and I was approved for open ended I.V. treatment.(Thank you God!)
I was supposed to start out on Primaxin but it was on back order and now it appears that I will be put on Vancomycin. As I undertand this stuff is quite toxic. I have also read that this is one of the most effective meds at treating chronic Bb.
Has this been the first choice option for anyone else? I am hoping this is going to kick some Bb A$$! I've gone from being built like a bodybuilder last year to Chinese Gymnest this year.

you accidentally got DUPLICATE POSTS....

please DELETE this one by clicking on PENCIL, 3rd box to right of your name.

go to top left corner; click DELETE POST; hit enter, and it's gone.

ignore moderator's comment.

go to your other post, and break it all up into SHORT PARAGRAPHS for us neuro folks so can comprehend and read in order to help you.

instructions below! thanks!

Welcome; so glad you found us!!

Fyi: we have over 1000 viewers daily; 200 - 400 posting/replying so we all must manage our time well; so specific titles get our time/replies. NON-SPECIFIC ONES, I SOB, SCROLL ON BY!
*************************************************************

Also, please be VERY SPECIFIC in subject line what you will be discussing.

Example:

PLEASE show your positive, +/-, and IND numbers from both western blot IGG AND IGM blood tests; do it this way please!

IGM ... do same thing for IGG below IGM
*******************************************

18 +
41 +/-
78 IND

When you post or reply, please break up your solid, continuous block text [Smile]
welcome to the board! many of us have neuro lyme where we can NOT read long solid block text and be able to comprehend and read it as is.

please edit your post by CLICKING PAPER/PENCIL ICON to right of your name. that opens up BOTH subject line and body text.

now please break up your WORDY SENTENCES into one sentence paragraphs. Then hit ENTER KEY ``THREE`` after each paragraph; we need that space for comprehension.

if you are NOT a wordy person, you can do 2 or 3 total ok. do this for your entire post.

NOTE: you do NOT have to use "", just show the name of person you are responding to, and then type your comment.

IF you need to use "", PLEASE DELETE "BOLD" CODES so it's regular type text we read vs. the DARK, HARSH/PAINFUL BOLDING.

specifically, delete the first 4 characters of 2ND LINE of a ""

[QB] just delete these 4 characters, and BOLDING is GONE! my eyes will really appreciate that; it's one very bad side effect of my having lyme for 38.5 years!! xox

then go to left hand corner and mark box to receive ALL REPLIES, and click EDIT SEND

we thank you for helping us; [Wink] otherwise, we will SOB, SCROLL ON BY, since we can't read to help you. If I see posts like this, I SOB them; to hard on me. I'm also in the early stages of losing my eyesight from diabetes retinopathy. [Frown]

Is this your job to open topics on here and correct everyone? I have had you comment and complain on other user names that I had on here. What gives woman? Just want some advice not you coming on my posts and bossing me around!

I will delete the duplicate post now I know how. If you were appointed a Mod position on here I guess you could do it yourself but you havn't been. I guess your just a self appointed mod!

Take a hike!

I really can't answer your question about the vanco... sorry. It's a macrolide (like zith, biaxin, etc.) so should target a couple of Bb forms. One note- I took oral vanco a few years ago that resulted in some vestibular toxicity. Be aware of any dizziness, vertigo, or tinnitis you have and tell your doc about it if it arises(I have no idea how common/uncommon this is- just my own experience...)

Did your doc speak with you about using a combo regime to address the other Bb morphs/forms? If I were ever going to get a PICC line again (I had one before with just rocephin), I'd want to get the best bang for the buck and time period while it's in.

Good luck with your PICC! I hope you feel bigtime improvement.

Sounds good! Most drs use this as a last resort. It's one of the few drugs to work against MRSA, so they don't like to prescribe it for other things.

I hope this works for you!! [Cool]
