Dx with Lyme 2 months ago, recently positive for Babs. Cannot see LLMD until 09/16/08. Being treatd by Rheumy until then.

Have been treated with 4 weeks of Doxy........3 week break, back on Doxy 100 mg 2 x per day.

Aside from profound fatigue, sweats, muscle aches, headaches, etc.....I recently started with pain under left ribcage.

Rheumy ordered Ultrasound to check spleen. Normal spleen size (according to radiologist report) is 11 cm, mine is measuring 13-13.5 or a bit larger.

Is there anything I can do or take until I can see LLMD in 3 weeks?

Thanks.

Babesia can affect the spleen. I get that same pain.

For babs, you can take Artemisia. I take Dr. Zhang's.

Also, Enula is an herb available at www.nutramedix.com

You can also do things to move out toxins - drink lots of water, take chlorella, etc.

I had this pain very badly too. Felt like my spleen was throbbing. But with doxycycline and colloidal silver that and anything else babs related has improved.

I know some would say thats impossible, but it is possible cause its happened.

I'd be interested to know why the spleen swells in LD and how common it is.

Babesia.

Can you get your Rheumy to check you for it?

Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks everyone!

Tincup, my Rheumy did have my labs drawn for Babesia. The first titer was positive, she felt the second was negative because the values did not " rise". I don't buy that, but have no recourse for treatment until I see the LLMD in another 3 weeks. I still have all the symptoms.
