I've looked through the newbie package using CTRL and FIND and I can't find anything.
It seems like I had previously seen a list of 4 or 5 different programs that help with prescriptions in that package, but I can't find it now.
My doc just switched my meds and when I went to fill the scripts discovered the generic form of Zithromax was going to cost me $400 a month! I don't have that!
My mom bought me 14 pills ($100!) which is a 7 day supply, but will actually give me 10 days since doc wants me to start at 1/2 dose for the first week. After that, though... =(
I need to figure something out... and fast. Any ideas??

that sure seems a lot for zith. generic. but I just check one web site and, Oy, Vey!
Trick . . . sometimes the higher dose may cost just a little more but you can break it in half. Always check to see if that can be done with each particular medicine, though, as sometimes you should not break the seal on a caplet or tablet.
As for capsules, they should never be broken up unless the pharmacist says it's okay -- the med may not be the same throughout all the powdered ingredients.

Also, does your doctor have you taking other meds in a combination protocol?

Is this on Walmart's $4.00 list?
Costco, too, has great prices. You do not have to be a member JUST for pharmacy at Costco and you may be able to do it online, not sure, though.

These are 250mg tablets and I will be taking 2/day when I get to full dose. I take 1/day for the first week, then the second week bump up to the 2/day and add Flagyl with it at 1/2 dose.
I got 4 new scripts yesterday and immediately checked Walmart's $4 list for them all since that is where I get my meds anyway. Three out of 4 are on there. YEA!! =)
The Zithromax, though, is not. =( The $100 for 14 pills was through Walmart.
Hubby has some papers for assistance through Pfizer here, but we'll have to take them to the doc and get signatures and then they ship it to the doc and we pick it up.
I don't know whether doc will even be ok with doing that. =/ Then, too, don't know if I'd be approved, and if so how quick it works...
I'm just freakin' out over this and this isn't even the big, bad costs like IV or Mepron yet. yikes!

Thanks everyone! =) I did price check at Costco and it looks like I could get a 30 day supply for around $130 if I can cut the 500mg tabs in half, so that's a possibility.
Still more than I can really afford, but certainly better than the $400! I'm going to have hubby look at the link up there and also check into other pharmacies off-shore(?).
I know there are cheaper abx, but this is what doc has prescribed for now. I am coming off of doxy and amox both and switching to the zith and flagyl.
Thanks again for the help! Sending my hubby (my working brain as mine is Lyme fried! lol) this thread...

Mexico, unfortunately, is not an option. I'm about 45min from the OK border, so going myself is a no-go, and I don't know anyone who goes down there, either. =(
I think the plan right now is to try to get it through Pfizer first, since that would remove all cost.
Hubby is supposed to be in charge of this kind of stuff since my brain just flat doesn't work most of the time, but he called in sick to work 2 days this week because of a runny nose so he's all "sick" and "tired" and being all slow about stuff..
Meanwhile, I've been freakin' out over all these NEW added medical costs (LLMD wants to see me again in 2wks, and also is sending me to a neuro).
Whether it is/was a plateau, a herx, a worsening of everything or what I've had a rotten 2wks and have been trying to eliminate as much stress as I can since I'm fairly certain my adrenals are shot.
Which is why I'm so glad I have several back-up plans for the zith now, thanks to you guys... that helps a ton! =) One less thing to seriously worry about.
I'm only really worried about whether I can get more meds in before I run out of the supply I have. 9 days and counting. LOL
