mY DAUGHTER HAS LYME SINCE AGE SIXTEEN, SHE IS NOW TWENTY ONE YEARS OLD. SHE HAS NEVER HAD ANY TEST FOR COINFECTIONS NOR THE CD 57. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME MORE ABOUT THIS TEST AND HOW ACCURATE IT IS? IF THE NUMBER IS LOW, DOES THAT MEAN SHE HAS CHRONIC LYME?????

It's an indicator... that's all.

A low test result probably points to chronic Lyme. You already know you are dealing with that.

I think it's highly overrated.

If your daughter is still ill, she needs to be checked for coinfections. That would be a much better use of your money!

It's not but it is supportive information. My recent LapCorp CD-57 was a 40. Supposedly the numbers bounce around in the low end of the reference range until treatment becomes effective and then they will start to spike upwards. Ideally, you want the number at 120 or above. It seems that not everyone will regain that high of a number after infection. It's not an essential test but again another piece of information within the mystery...

The reason I do no like the test is staph infections and coinfections can give you high numbers so it can be difficult to get correct information from the test.

cd57 is a pointer to a th1 chronic overstimulation, is usefull only in some cases
