I feel stupid asking this question, but what is mangosteen good for? I have descriptions and it comes in juice form, but is it a detox or how does it help for lyme? What supplements have been used with antibiotics? I'm on IV rocephin and oral zithromax for lyme and bartonella (both positive symptoms and tests). I take probiotics, fish oil, flaxseed (for cholesterol) and milk thistle everyday. I take toprol for the v-tac episodes I've had when the lyme started, levoxyl for hypothyroidism, 1000 mg sodium tab a day and lasix for hyponatremia (my body doesn't retain salt, so I have to take this stuff), anafranil (tricyclic for ocd) and xanax. I'd love to try to do supplements and detox with all the ___ I put in this body daily, but don't know where to start. Any suggestions??

thanks so much. be well

Time Magazine has an article on it:

http://livingbyheart.tripod.com/xresearch/id52.html

I understand Mangosteen can help with inflammation. Even though I don't have much of the painful joint symptoms, I have added this juice to my daily program.

Bb causes so much inflammation in our bodies. I figure it would be wise for me to help my lowly immune system.

Mangosteen juice is an anti-inflammatory juice and has been wonderful for me. It stopped all inflammatory eye symptoms immediately. It also keeps my intestines regular like a baby's. Without it, I'd be constipated. Oh yeah, it stopped my gums from bleeding, too.

There are lots of mangosteen juice varieties. I drink the Ultra mangosteen one, with 70 minerals added from Utah seabeds. It's a good idea to go slowly in the beginning and drink water also, as it can be powerful initially.

Bryan Rosner also has a chapter on it in his book, "The Ten Top Treatments for Lyme Disease".

I would send a private message to lymetoo.

Mangosteen has helped her a lot. She has done her research on it.

Mangosteen is also a anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-parasitic. It definitely kills my lyme and babesia back. To me it is as strong as an antibiotic or malarial med without side-effects.

Lots of herxing but no toxic med side-effects.

The only brand so far that has worked is Xango.
Xango is sold through a multi-level marketing scheme.

But I bite the bullet and signed up at a seminar. So far it has been worth it because overall it has been cheaper than antibiotics and still works a year later.

Hi, I haven't been on here in a long time. I used to do the mangosteen juice.some company and they sent it every month..I didn't notice anything fantastic so I stopped. but that was me. I would strongly recommend teasel root extract because I have noticed a major difference. I take 10 to 20 drops twice a day. I also noticed how much better my hair looks while taking it. I am (temporarily I'm sure) off antibiotics although I still have a positive blood test for it. I'm hopeful that teasel root can keep me off it for a bit longer. Ask your doctor or nutritionist about it.

I have received the most help from mangosteen with my fatigue, pain, brain fog, and depression.

I think I value the pain relief the most!

My vision has actually improved while on Xango. I have proof from my eye doctor!

Here is what mangosteen can do for you, according to the world's foremost botanist, James Duke:

I order the Ultra mangosteen juice online from vitacost.

Xango is the strongest mangosteen juice version. It's just too strong for me. I'm very sensitive to everything!

I don't know about an amount for a child. My sense is to always go small and slowly to see what the effect is and what the minimal effective dose is for symptom abatement.

Thanks Robin.

I will go online and look up vitacost.

Thanks to others as well for your suggestions. Curious too, surg about where you get xango.

My son has eye issues, stomach issues and migrating pain, usually back to back of leg.

Appreciate all your responses

Anyone that's using mangosteen/Xango have food allergies? My sister sent me some but I'm afraid to use it with "natural flavor" on the label. Have allergies to gliaden, dairy, soy, and egg. Intolerance for many more foods so now that some GI symptoms are calmed down I hesitate to rock the boat. Just wondering if anyone w/ food allergies tried it successfully. Thanks, Grannie LA

I have been taking Xango for 4 1/2 yrs now. I am gluten intolerant. No problems.

There is no soy, dairy, or soy in it. The only thing to worry about is if you're allergic to strawberries or some of the other fruit juices listed.

They are all in small amounts. Mangosteen is also a natural anti-histamine. So that's another plus.

YES! Stick to high quality products. I doubt the pills would do anything for headaches.

Too,

How much do you drink per day?

2-3 oz twice a day
