I'm almost done with my 1st box of cholestryamine, so will need to refill tomorrow.

Should I ask the pharmicist for the sucrose-free version? I don't have any yeast problems yet that I'm aware of, but want to prevent ingesting too much sugar.

The sucrose-free version is made with aspartame, so would that version even be healthier?

Thanks!

Erica

.....The little bit of sugar in the regular stuff isn't going to hurt you any....It's a much better choice than the one with aspartame.

I agree wholeheartedly, and I have yeast issues. The light version has apartame, which is a neurotoxin. Lymies and neurotoxins do not mix.

I searched and found this post by Clarissa and also this link which has some info for you too so do read it.

**************************************************

There's a place called Lionville in PA and they sell sugar free CSM capsules. This was one of the most exciting diecoveries of my life.

Your doctor has to call in the RX:

600 mg capsules (6 capsules = 1 pkt of powder)

Phone# (610) 363-7474

I find them less constipating, too. They taste like NOTHING which is a nice change from that aspartamey sweetness of the powder.

Hope that helps...saved me!

You asked: " . . . The sucrose-free version is made with aspartame, so would that version even be healthier?"

NO. Sorry. Avoid aspartame/Nutrasweet/Equal like the plague because it's just as deadly.

It is a neurotoxin, as FoggyInLA says.

So is MSG - you can google for all its many names.

Check everything you take, even breath mints and toothpaste to be sure it's free of this stuff. It's also best to avoid all dyes.

--

Sucralose may be better, but it is still not "of this earth" - it's best to use additive-free products. You can add a drop of Stevia Clear (by SweetLeaf) if you want a touch of natural sweetness but, for the life of me, I don't know why medicines have to be sweetened. Just glup. Chase with water or a nice tea.

Good luck.

There is also a pharmacy in the Boston area that has it with no additives if that other suggestion does not work out.

Hi Erica,

Yes, Clarke's pharmacy that Rianna posted about has the unflavored, unsweetened one in a 500g jar. You can use as much or as little as you want at one time.

Clarke's is in the Seattle area, so they should be able to get it to California in a couple of days. They will send you what you need to submit an insurance claim, if you're doing that.
