I have had Lyme for about 4 years... The past 4 months I have not had my period though. I was tested for Pregnancy a few times... this is when the whole lyme thing started b/c i knew i had something wrong with me. Did anyone else have this problem?

Women's menstrual cycles seem to be largely affected by lyme. My cycles, which were always 28 days on the dot, changed radically. I am now heading into menopause, and I have also been affected this way.
My cycles were more erratic in terms of length and duration of each cycle.
Also, my lyme symptoms are always exacerbated with the onset of a menstrual cycle.

They are also in the process of trying to prove a link btwn. Lyme and Endometriosis.
They are not quite sure as of yet if the Lyme pre-disposes a woman to Endo or if the endo weakens the immune system to allow the Lyme symptoms to come out.
There do seem to be many woman whose hormones are greatly affected by the DD.

Thank you! I was always always regular and was on the BC pill... Haven't had it in a long time though and i am not off the pill. Its scary! I am 24. I am so scared i wont be able to have children when i get married

Lyme gave me a false menopause. Once I got good lyme treatment, everything went back to normal.
I was in the false menopause for a number of years because I didn't know it was caused by lyme disease. The doctors all diagnosed me as being in menopause and post-menopause and gave me hormone replacement.
I recently talked to a woman whose periods stopped (she is 35). She had no other symptoms. Her husband had just been diagnosed with babesiosis and possibly lyme. She decided to go to the lyme doc and get tested. Turns out she also has lyme and babesiosis and is now being treated.
So, what you are experiencing is common. It means that lyme has attacked you gynecologically.
Don't worry. Things will eventually get back to normal as your lyme and company are treated.

I am being tested for lyme now and not yet confirmed, but my first symptoms appeared around ovulation and my period. It is always really bad as my hormones shift. I spent months thinking that I am in early menopause. All the doctors told me I wasn't and that they have no idea what is going on. One told me to get pregnant to solve it. Another told me to use Lupron Depot to stop my periods.

Right before my body completely crashed, I had a period and then another one 14 days later!! it' was very bizarre!!!
my periods are so wacky....range from 28-38 days..I never know!
I get PMS (never had it before lyme) and pre-menstrual time is agonizing! my boobs get SO SO SO sore and swollen and all the cranky mood stuff with extra fatigue!
and I noticed too that I am bleeding quite a bit with ovulation now...
I have done numerous hormone testing and nothing is really that off??? but I know it is cause my body is telling me!
I did Thermography (a camera & system that senses heat in the body) and the practitioner freaked out of the shot of my boobs...they were FULL of hormones- she said it was like I was going to start lactating! i sure felt like it...

I tried telling my gyn something was wrong. VERY heavy periods every 2-4 weeks, lasting 7-10 days. Doc said nothing was wrong, I was just lucky!
Finally tried the patch which helped a little and then got the Mirena IUD which stopped everything.
Of course, I still had Lyme and didn't know it then. Didn't discover that piece of info til 5 years later!

Lyme & Babs for me. Most recently went 5 months (while taken off ABX), then it came back with a perfectly normal menstrual period, when I went on ABX again.
Go figure....
These stinking TBDs can really screw with your hormones something fierce.

I noticed that after I got bit my cycles were 28 days on the dot, they went to 21-23 days for a while and then after starting tx, they've settled around 25-26 days.
I also noticed my normal PMS would consist of crying more easily. And that turned into being REALLY MAD, almost enraged (although I kept it to myself!) at the smallest things, I would just get so mad and not be able to sleep because of the anger. Unlike me. But thank goodness it sticks to just PMS days.
I also have endometriosis, but I've had that for a lot longer than I have Lyme. At least as far as I know! I *think* I know when I got bit.

Yes, lyme can really mess with the endocrine system. I never had a problem with my period before infection but now I have pcos.
I have found that glutathione helps remove the toxins and get the body working again. You may also want to see a gyno and induce your period because going without menstruation cause other problems.
