Just picked this up at Whole Foods. www.justlikesugarinc.com

Its kinda a sugar substitute except that its not made from sugar, not type of tol anywhere. It doesn't ferment(yeast can't eat it), it does nothing to your blood sugar, unlike stevia, and its made from chicory fiber. Its all natural.

I know there are many sugar haters out there. I for one recognize the dangers of refined sugars, and sugar substitutes. I used to use either grape sugar or organic sugar. I also recognize that yeast luv sugar. So I can understand the paranoia going around. This seems different tho.

So has anyones tried this? Plz I don't care about your sugar paranoias, there are plenty of threads out there promoting that [bonk] I merely want to know if anyone has tried this.

Thanks for posting this, I've never heard of it. I use stevia and didn't know it had a glycemic effect, so I ordered a sample of the Just Like Sugar.

Stevia has 0 glycemic index and is safe for diabetics. I've not heard of justlikesugar. Is it natural?

http://www.stevia.com/

Stevia is all natural. It is a ground up herb.

Warning to celiacs: it may not be gluten-free. Call to find out. It contains maltodextrin.

It also contains Vitamin C.

I haven't tried baking with it, but I tried it for tea and a latte syrup I make.

My kids could tell a difference in the tea. I had used a different coffee for the latte syrup, so I don't know if it was the Just Like Sugar that made it taste different or the coffee.

It wasn't terrible, but it definitely was not the same in tea. I haven't had time to play with it again.

Maltodextrin is safe for celiacs in the US. It's made from corn here.

The allergen listing would have to list wheat if it were made of wheat.

Check the website, the maltodextrin come from chicory fiber. A 100g serving (YIKES!) has nothing but fiber from it.

Agave syrup, it tastes good, diabetics cannot take though, but it never seemed to feed my skin candida (but I can't be sure).

I dislike the taste of stevia, and we all prefer agave at home (no diabetics here, but we have candida issues).

It can be used for baking and cooking.
