My son has two long rings around his stomache. The go around the front but not the back. They look like stretch marks but are strange looking, by the way he is on the skinny side, so not likely to be a stretch mark. Does this sound like a lyme erthymia rash??? Thanks so much for your imput.

Stretch mark = Bartonella.

Yes, more like bartonella - they can look much like stretch marks.

However, lyme can have a variety of rashes and the fact that it is a ring might be lyme. I've seen photos of lyme rings that are quite large.

Can you take several good photos with good lighting? If you put a ruler next to the rash or a clean coin that can serve for scale and dimension.

I just looked back over some of your posts to be sure that you've gotten some of the basic links, etc. Sounds like you are no stranger in this land.

I hope your son can get to a LLMD very soon. If you tell them of the current rash, you may be able to get in more quickly, at least for an appointment to get started.

Hope this works out okay for all of you.

Hi all

I had a brown ring around my neck the whole time
I have been sick -

as I got better the Ring slowly went away
and was completely gone-

When I got reinfected 5 months ago the
ring around my neck came back in days-

Now the ring is mostly gone again
so I think its a good sign-

The ring was not Bart type stretch marks

It looked like a brown magic marker
in almost a perfect circle around my neck
about 3 inches below my neck -

interesting...

Back in 2003 I had to go to Mexico for work and got very sick there. Fever and diarrhea. I was still feeling sick when I got home and one of the doctors put me on Keflex (cefuroxime).

After a few days of taking it, I had 2-3 large probably 6-8 inch red rings on my stomach and back, no bulls eye center though.

Myself and the pharmacist took it as an allergic reaction to the meds.

Could those rings be where the tick had bitten me?
