Does any one else have this? I had this problem and my daughter who is herxing right now is having the same problem. At dinner(perhaps with hot food) it feels like you can't breathe, you have trouble swallowing and could choke. This makes you really anxious. At the same time I would feel like I couldn't see(my eyes have always been a big problem) My daughter is being treated with rifampin, zith, malarone, hydroxychloroquine, and nystatin. Tonight we'll try cold food! Karen

Hi, I'm not sure about the hot food aspect, but within 3 months of 'getting sick', I had difficulty swallowing. It felt like I couldn't swallow, or the food would 'stop' in my throat and I couldn't get it down and I would feel like I would choke. I've even done that with my spit before.

Someone just posted on another regional Lyme forum that Lyme can go after the vagus nerve, which deals with nausea and apparently breathing issues as well (I have NOT confirmed any of this by searching). It would explain things like this if it is true. I have air hunger and developed a revulsion to eating after a reinfection this summer (I think), which feel related. I'm assuming it's babesia in my case. I've read here on lymenet that babesia patients develop anorexia sometimes.
