Hi all, not sure if this is ABX generated or not. I started Zithromax 4 days ago, 250 mg.

BID. Prior to that, was on Ceftin. My husband has been out of town, so this week has been

crazy. We have not been home until 8:30 or after, then homework, supper, etc. I am

exhausted, my house is filthy, etc. Anyway, my anxiety level is very much increased. I have

absolutely no patience. I don't know if this is an issue of the Zithromax, or just a tough

week. I have been on Zithromax before, for sinus infections, and do not remember this

happening. Any thoughts?? This is not fun.

Sounds like a herx reaction to me...Have you been tested for Bart? Zith hits bart and bart herxes usually increase irritability...

No Lauren, I have not been tested. I may request that at my next appt. which isn't until

Dec. I guess if it is a herx...it is a good thing huh? I hope it doesn't last very

long...as my family isn't thrilled with me at the moment.

My family isn't thrilled with me a lot of the time either! It's the nature of the beast unfortuneately.

FYI - the Bart testing is very unreliable - more so even than Lyme. But that does seem to be the main culprit in anxiety and irritability.

I know that when I herx I feel like an emotional roller coaster. Teary, anxious, irritable...sometimes all three at once, which makes me pretty miserable to be around.

And yes, it's a good sign that your killing those buggers, so just look at it that way [Wink]

Are you doing anything to detox? Some simple things are LOT'S of lemon water and epsom salt baths.

Hope you get back to your old self soon!

Try increasing your B vitamins, B complex and especially B1.

A food source is Brewer's Yeast--very high in B vitamins and protein also. Tastes like %&#*%#, but in OJ, it's not so bad. I used to say you can really tell you're becoming a health food freak when you start craving the taste of brewer's yeast.

It also works GREAT to stop hangovers, problems with lack of sleep, etc.

Best,

Cass A
