hey guys i was just looking into going to some FIR sauna sessions to help but had a few questions.

1) I won't be seeing my LLMD till october 3rd so i'm not on any treatment - therefore will the sauna's not do anything for detox since i havent had any meds yet?

2) one of my problem symptoms is photosensitivity - does anyone have know if this poses a problem since the sauna is based on infrared light - i know it's not visible light but still???

I did call the spa that has the saunas and they immediately said it's not an issue but she sounded really young and almost as if she was just told to answer everything question with the 'positive' answer lol - maybe not though

3) another of my symptoms is dry skin and im heard/read that sauna's dry out the skin so just wondering if that's true and true for FIR saunas?

thanks for everyone's help you're all great on here

Heavenly Heat Saunas are the best for lyme patients and those with multiple chemical sensitivities as they are made with a lot of glass and woods that are guaranteed safe.

For saunas, there usually is no light. It's from a heat panel that may glow reddish for some, but for others not at all.

One mfg. that advertises safe wood/no plywood has not always lived up to that. One of my friends was unfortunate in getting one of their bad saunas. She was not alone. Others describe the same thing.

that company refused to take back my friend's sauna even though I could see the plywood in it. Not all of their models had that, and it was a couple years ago, but a head's up about quality control. Others here had the same problem with that company:

We got a vinyl portable from www.nationalpoolwholesalers.com. We didn't have any outgassing from it. And we are pretty scent sensitive.

A far infrared sauna works differently and your skin actually feels fabulous afterward. It pulls the oils up as it detoxes.

Dry brushing before using stimulates circulation. My daughter said her sweat increased quite a bit after dry brusing her skin.

I was on doxycycline & had an infrared sauna for about 40-50 minutes. I did get some redness & my skin felt like it got a bit of a kind of sunburn. I know it's not UV but it is light.

I think you have to be a bit cautious if you are taking abx that make you light sensitive.

Sans,

Dry skin is also a sign of iodine deficiency...

Hi:

Lymies usually have issues with ridding our bodies of toxins so using the sauna proir to treatment will help. It may even lessen your herxes if you start out "cleaner"

I have very dry skin and the infra red doesn't make it any dryer

The photosensitivity shouldn't be an issue either.

It's a good thing to do. Instead of paying for treatments it may be way cheaper to get the portable ones for under $200 on EBay. I absolutely LOVE mine and it's done wonders for me.
