I got relief within a few days, not weeks. And yes, I had terrible migraines and they came very frequently. In fact, I'd gotten to the point of not planning a single thing more than a couple of hours away because I had migraines every couple of DAYS. I've only had 2 since I started taking Topomax a few months ago. Good luck!

James, is this for headaches? With me, Topamax took about a week to start working. The problem is, every time I seemed to adjust to a dosage the headaches came back. At 75 mg's I decided it just wasn't worth the side effects to go up higher. In my case, I believe it didn't work for any length of time bc of the underlying Lyme infection. Now I am on the lowest dose of Nortriptyline and so far it has been helping with no side effects whatsoever. Still have low level nerve pain but I feel SO much better and can function again. If I went up on the dose it would probably help more, but I'm going to see if I can keep going on the 10 mg's. P.S. Watch out for mood swings on the Topamax!
