Radha, That isn't true. Antibiotics do not heal, they kill. While they are very helpful at ridding us of bacteria, they are also damaging to our bodies.

To protect your body from both infections and antibiotic side effects, you need to be doing all you can do to nourish your body.

If you have Babesia, your spleen is very important. See the following reports about Babesia and the spleen.

http://www.emedicine.com/med/topic195.htm

Mortality/Morbidity

Babesiosis in otherwise healthy hosts produces an acute infectious disease that resembles malaria. Mortality due to babesiosis is uncommon in patients with normal splenic function.
Patients who are asplenic have a more fulminant and prolonged clinical course and may have overwhelming infection and a fatal outcome.

I hope your spleen is okay, but please do talk to your doctor right away.

Here is a great article on which foods nourish the spleen and other organs.

I used a product from Standard Process called Spleen. You do have to get it from a professional. It helped oh, so much!

Sorry, I don't know of others over the counter.

I would for sure tell your LLMD or MD about your spleen hurting. What helps me when mine hurts is to drink about a quarter of a cup of pineapple juice or eating some fresh pineapple helps as well.

The enzymes in pineapple seem to help me with the inflammation in my spleen. Fried food and spicy food can make my spleen hurt.

I always keep some organic pineapple juice around so that if my spleen hurts once I am in bed for the night I can get up and sip some pineapple juice and go back to sleep.

Radha,

Check out these two sites. They are organizations of physicians who have advanced their medical studies to include alternative care. Both organizations have a "Find a Physician" feature.
